I found mine via my therapist. But also try googling "trans support groups near me"...it's surprisingly fruitful (pardon the pun).

Have you found a local or nearby trans support group? They'd probably have the best recommendations...

I started an all-trans punk band online, and my usual music is singer-songriter. The new project really pushed me, and turns music making into a social activity! I also started another solo project that is 100% cello covers of contemporary songs (last one I did was "girls just wanna have fun"). Both of these projects push me out of my usual, and breathe some fresh air into my music. Maybe you could find some ideas that pushes you out of your comfort zone?

Most religions specifically dissuade people from thinking critically. I recall my time in my Jesuit high school, where any questioning of the tenets were frowned upon.

The basic concept of faith is to accept something which can't be proven. It is antithetical to critical thought.

I have spent years learning about religions of the world, as I recover from my religious trauma. There are very few which truly encourage critical thought.

Critical thinking isn't anti-religion. Religion is anti-critical thinking.

WA resident here, raised in AK. The healthcare here is pretty a.azing. my medicaid pays for all surgeries, procedures, even hair removal!

We also have some good laws like how demanding to know what kind of genitals a trans person has is something that you can call the cops about.

I came here to mention Japan's "Asia for Asians" campaign in the early 1900s. Glad to see I'm not the only history nerd commenting on this post!

Not to mention Alan Turing

Most jobs work that way. A job has a set pay, and you can get fired or promoted. Tipping is unusual: A janitor doesnt get paid a different amount each paycheck because of how clean others feel it is this week. Cashiers who help you find things in the store don't make more that day.

I'm thinking of starting a all-trans punk band (recording individually, a la Postal Service). Working title: XX Why?

Song titles so far:

  1. Cissy fit
  2. Sacrifice the patriarchy
  3. Zaddy don't care
  4. Bye bye binary

Sound would be a mix of Descendents, NOFX, Bad religion, Fugazi.

I play guitar, bass, vocals, and write...but I don't want to play everything myself. Looking for guitarists, drummers, bassist and vocals. Must have some ability to record a decent track. Not a serious endeavor, not a big time commitment.
