I remember reading this and hoped it got posted here, I was pissing myself laughing at it like, the arseholes in those communities are absolute fucking morons.

The point is right in front of their face and they still can't see it (so the my can't screenshot this comment for a post, the point is that those regimes were authoritarian nightmares to live in as an ordinary person). I've said it before and I'll say it again, they're not tankies they're idiots who for some reason love any auth regime and then pretend that life there is so good.

And everytime I post some shit like this I have to say at the end, I do not like capitalism or the US (also I'm Irish and I live in Austria currently) I would much rather see a socialist state or proper commune style communism, what they admire is basically horrible shit which should be callef Maoism/Stalism/etc.

I watched the vid, what is up with the journalists' responses. Some guy is in prison in iran (the important story) and they're getting offended about their professionalism being attacked?? What do the want the guy to say? That we're dispatching seal team six? If the guy wasn't there on official EU business then of course Swedish government should be the lead?

It's definitely creating more of a case to defederate from it if it ever tries to federate

Very tasteful art. Who is the artist? For academic and art appreciation purposes, of course.

Why is this news, from the article this looks to be a fairly "routine" event? Not that I support Russia, but I imagine NATO forces are also engaging in similar behaviour somewhere else?

I mean there has to be a price to pay here, we can't have our cake and eat it unfortunately. Caveats like "individual use" could allow this type of use while prevent companies taking the piss.

You seem to be implying that the government is the ruling class too, which (I grant you) may at least in part be the case but at least they're voted into place. Would you rather have companies that we have no control over realistically use it without limit?

Honest question, what would you see as a fair way to handle the situation?

I don't think it should be allowed to be trained off any of this stuff for entertainment/art/etc. at all. Like the dream future of AI was all the shitty boring stuff handled for us so we could sit back, chill and focus on arts, real scientific research, general individual betterment etc.

Instead we have these companies trying to get them doing all the art and interesting things whilst we all either have no job, money, or good standard of living, or the dangerous / shitty jobs.

I've lurked for a long time in the UFO/UAP subs on reddit and now that I've switched I see a lot less info than before (also it's a new community in lemmy so it needs a bit of time).

Anyone seen anything interesting in the last weeks regarding David Grusch's statements? Any interesting new theories? Etc.

Yes, I expect much change in the house of commons as a result if this debate... /s

What the fuck is the point of these petitions anyways, never seen a single one amount to anything, and the moment they removed the ability to no confidence the PM via the petition it lost all potency.

If you're gonna have petitions make them proper, direct democracy style.

Right so don't really know if this is bait... but that's one kind of accent (and the tickest pronunciation at that) in ulster, specifically greater Belfast/co. Antrim and very few people speak that thick. For the most part they should be quite understandable from the perspective of anyone who consumes any English language media outside of only American or only London (RP) English. The number of times I have had people have trouble with my accent in Europe and then I ask them what they watched when learning English and the answer is American TV is astounding.

This is me getting on my wee podium now but I have a huge problem with the Americans and Brits for this, they marginalise the fuck out if our dialect, make fun of it for being unitelligible (after making no effort to understand it), and often deny it any legitimacy.

In reality Irish English is spoken by 5-7million people, as large as some dialects of European languages (eg. Austrian/swiss German, Belgian/Swiss French, etc) and if you learn French or German you still get some exposure to those dialects and if you out your mind to it understand it.

Americans have trouble with any accent that isn't the blandest, nails on chalkboard accent.

Once had one ask me if I was speaking English when I spoke to him (for context I am Irish, the north bit)

Copyright law is gaslighting at this point. Piracy being extremely illegal but then this kind of shit being allowed by default is insane.

We really are living under the boot of the ruling classes.

We already develop drugs and perform a lot of research with the first techniques, example device here: https://open-ephys.org/miniscope-v4/miniscope-v4

It looks quite grotesque when mounted on the mice mind you. The "flourescent molecules" are by far the coolest, just google GFP (green flourescent proteins) and optogenetics - basically force specific behaviours or genetic expression in a mouse by shining light in the area you injected the optogenetic anitbodies.

Edit: GORE/NSFW warning Heres a better photo of a mounted miniscope: https://francis.naukas.com/files/2019/02/Dibujo20190203-Open-source-UCLA-Miniscope-nature-methods-41592_2018_266_Fig1-768x449.png
