Ironically my karma is the only reason I didn't straight up delete my account.

I know it's just fictional internet points, but I had a long running dumb game with myself to see how fast I could hit certain amounts.

That, and I managed to create my account exactly one year before my son was born, so they shared cake days, kinda.

I agree with pretty much every single word you wrote and have gone through the same thought process, with the only exception being that I used RiF instead of Baconreader.

It might be a tiny bit rough around the edges here and there, but the QoL features more than makes up for those.

I already prefer it to reddit tbh.

Minecraft can be a great tool for learning basic logic gates and all that. That's how we started at first.

It also helps that he's way smarter than I was at his age, lol.

It seems really counterintuitive, but computer literacy has taken a huge nosedive since the early days.

I have a 9 year old son, and while it's anecdotal I know for a fact he's the only one in his class who knows what the different components look like and what they do. All his friends are major gamers, but they have no idea how any of it works under the hood, so to speak, nor are they able to do a proper Google search, or organize files.

It boggled my mind when I first realized it also. At least my son got a nice headstart, as he's already into python and stuff. I'm proud as hell, lol.

Thanks for this. Those numbers indeed speak for themselves.

From a personal point of view the more I use Lemmy the more I like it. There are a lot of QoL features I really think is better here. Like this built in reply window, for instance.

I'm extremely glad such an awesome alternative existed when we needed somewhere to go.

I also have to say this feels more like a true community than redddit as a whole ever did.

They're defending their country willingly against a foreign agressor, so how can you justify a statement like that?

The foreign material aid they're receiving are things they've both asked for and sorely need.

Reddit users lost? (reddthat.com)

Do we at this point have any substantial data on just how many users Reddit actually lost due to this?

Any resources would be greatly appreciated.

As a sidenote, I'll add that they certainly lost my account the second I couldn't use RiF anymore.
