I think this is exactly what Alito meant by the "domestic supply" of infants available for adoption.

Costume Quest and Costume Quest 2 would be something you could play together. The player character is the twin of your choice, a girl or a boy, on a mission to save their sibling. You would have to read it to her and probably solve the puzzles, but she would be able to do the fights once you got going since it is turn based. It's very kid friendly.

We have about 25 years worth of experiments with it in various states, so it's been well studied. Legislating is a skill that needs to be developed, just like anything else, and a bunch of term-limited newbies have no incentive to do anything except get ready for the next thing, which only enhances the possiblity of corruption.

A mandatory retirement age is a different suggestion than term limits.

None of that has happened in the states that have term limits. If you think Republicans, no matter how long they have been in office, are going to start putting anyone other than Federalist Society drones on the courts, I'm not sure I can have a good faith argument with you.

Term limits empower lobbyists and career staffers and encourage legislators to give less of a shit about their constituents. I know "career politician" is often considered a dirty word, but having competent, knowledgeable elected officials is a good thing.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is an amazing dark comedy with a 47% score from critics.

I found myself in a similar place a few years ago. I ended up putting what was left in a very large, heavy planter that I could take with me when we moved.

I use Instagram primarily to follow quilters, who are primarily older and mostly women. A lot of them are relentless self promotion machines, as you would expect of small business owners who advertise through Instagram, so of course they are creating the new account Instagram has alerted them about. I'd imagine a huge proportion of new Threads users are the same, and their followers get notices about them using the new service. There is no way for Lemmy to do that.

It's a forgiving cut of meat. You'll be fine.

It's not a great picture, but he ran when I tried opening the door.

I live in a part of the country that imports shelter dogs from other places because our municipal shelters have so few (and almost all of the few they do have are pitbulls). We are fortunate to live near a large nonprofit animal welfare organization though, and they run a huge network to move unwanted dogs primarily from the South to rescues in the Northeast. They do charge about $500 for puppies adopted from them. It's less for older dogs, and they frequently have discounted adoption days to make space for new animals. They do all the initial shots and the spay or neuter along with treating other major medical issues they know about. We once fostered a dog for them that they were treating for heartworm.

They just want their animals in good homes, so it's not a hassle at all to adopt there. The application is very simple, they don't do home visits, and you cannot apply in advance. We've gotten all our current pets there, and I've been glad to support them.

I used recipes from Rose Levy Beranbaum's Cake Bible. The cake is her classic chocolate butter cake, baked in three 6 inch pans rather than two 9 inch pans, then cut in half. The frosting is her chocolate silk meringue with 3 egg whites rather than 2. I eliminated the water and heated the egg white and sugar slurry over simmering water after I failed twice to get sugar syrup into my stand mixer at her suggested temperature.

I was able to take the piece with the handle that was still around his neck off so he could come out with some dignity.
