If I buy Mullvad through Tailscale, would I lose the ability to generate and use a WireGuard private key for use with gluetun?

Once a year I purchase a 12-month Mullvad voucher via Amazon. Always no problem - until now.

Ordered ~24 hrs ago and my order status is 'Pending Verification'. I've been a Prime member over 15 years and never seen this before. (maybe vouchers are out-of-stock?)

Lesson learned - always order voucher at least a week or two before your subscription expiration date/time!

Anyone here seen this when ordering a voucher?

Trying to figure out what's going on and whether it's a technical issue or ISP policy issue. This is happening on an Android 13 phone.

On Tmobile data and while not using a VPN, I cannot access websites for Mullvad or a few other major VPN providers. I get a cert issue thrown up, and this happens in all different browsers. When I turn my VPN on, no problem reaching the websites. They also load fine using home Wi-Fi without a VPN running.

Additionally, a year ago I set the ad-blocking Mullvad DNS server as my private DNS and it worked great until about 3 months ago when I suddenly couldn't connect to it, or the other Mullvad DNS servers. Again, this was without a VPN running.

I can turn on the Mullvad VPN and that connection is made just fine over cell data, it's the peripherals I'm having issues with (DNS server and main website). Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Has anyone ever been curious to know if by entering a random number you can access successfully an active Mullvad account?

I have “Netgear Nighthawk AC1750” it says it should be compatible with Mullvad when properly configured.

This is my first time, can’t seem to find any guide on how to do it.

Im having this issue where, when im connecting to too many peers withing qbittorrent, the download speed drops to 0 and then starts building up again until it reaches around 20-30 MB/s. This cycle repeats itself every 1-2 minutes. I believe it has to do with the amount of peers connected, so i tried experimenting the setting "maximumg global connections", but im not sure about this. If i limit this setting to 100, it seems to somewhat stabilize the connection a bit, but massively cripples my throughput to around only 10MiB/s

Im on a 500 MBits fibre optic ISP contract btw.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Whenever the question of slow server speeds comes up in this sub there’s always people attacking the OP for even daring to say anything negative about Mullvad and saying that because this sub is not full of speed complains it must be all good. Well today I tried to do a small very unscientific test myself.

I'm in Thailand and need to use a server in Sweden and today I tested the top 10 (4 ovpn and 6 wg) servers in Stockholm and the result is very disappointing.

My wifi speed without vpn was 70/27 and the speeds I got when using the Mullvad servers was only a fraction of that with most of the servers having DL speeds of around 10mbps and the fastest one being just 25mpbs. I have listed all the servers tested and their speeds below (and yes, I have screenshots of all of these tests for those who think I'm just making this up).

Mind you, these are servers located in Mullvad’s home country and these tests were done around 5am local time in Sweden so there would be minimal local users.

Before everyone starts attacking me, I like Mullvad and like what they are doing, but I really don’t think this is good enough. How is it possible to try 10 servers in Mullvad’s own country and every single one of them is terrible?

(Mbps Upload/Download tested using speedtest.net Stockholm server)

My WiFi speed without VPN: 70.2/27.1

Speed with Mullvad servers:

Se-sto-ovpn001: 7.6/5.9

Se-sto-ovpn002: 8.1/1.2

Se-sto-ovpn003: 15.3/4.1

Se-sto-ovpn004: 6.8/0.8

Se-sto-wg001: 12.4/5.9

Se-sto-wg002: 12.4/5.6

Se-sto-wg003: 6.3/10.3

Se-sto-wg004: 14.9/4.1

Se-sto-wg005: 24.7/10.3

Se-sto-wg006: 15.2/0.7

Suspicious host. (zerobytes.monster)

I use GlassWire to regularly monitor my own network. Just now, I received a report saying there was a suspicious host connection. The application is qbittorrent and it's connected to 736d0mvetjw.life.

Now, I'm currently away, so I don't seed any of them and keep all torrents paused. I also haven't used it for around a month by now. Not only that, I don't use it to torrent stuffs like applications and such, so I have never run any executables or anything like that from torrents. Latest torrent is from nyaa. For all that matters, I have been busy, I was even thinking to quit this whole thing for good. So this came as a surprise to me.

Better be safe than sorry, I immediately cut connection and looked for information. I wasn't able to find out much except that it's related to a botnet. That was surprising since I have never run anything suspicious as far as I can remember. I also haven't found anything else. No suspicious application, nothing. AV scan also hasn't found anything. I'm using paid Bitdefender if it matters. I have yet to do a full scan though, since it's early morning over here, I have a lot of stuffs in my laptop, and I need to get ready.

I wonder what should I do. I want to go full panic mode and take the safest approach if possible, but I can't due to current circumstances. Am I actually overreacting?

I posted this before on techsupport subreddit but apparently it doesn't allow piracy-related issue. If there's a better place to ask this, please do tell me. Any help is appreciated.

I have been extensively researching VPN solutions that are getting ARM support out in their products. Looks like the BETA is out. I am not a customer yet, but was seriously considering it if I knew official support was coming soon.

I have two windows laptops (one is ARM) and an Android phone. Currently using Malwarebytes Privacy VPN but they don't have ARM support and they don't look to support it anytime soon. Using Cloudflare Warp+ as a stop gap, but it's an additional cost $5 a month, and not a "true" privacy focused VPN. Does it make sense to pay now with hopes official support is soon? My Malwarebytes subscription is up this winter and don't think I will renew with them.
