DEux for Twosdays 05 Nov 2024

  • Brush: Zenith - 506 N XS (extra soft horse)
  • Razor: Wolfman WR2 (1.55 mm SB / 1.25 mm OC)
  • Blade: Polsilver
  • Lather: Noble Otter — Thé Noir et Vanille
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter — Thé Noir et Vanille

Delightful evening shave with Thé Noir et Vanille. This was by first love-on-first-sniff soap and was instrumental in my descent down the rabbit hole. I couldn't believe that I had completely missed the category of delightful smelling shave gear and went on a rampage for a while there. Good times.

No, white. The stick is pink. I'll have to send you some.

Love the acronym-laden techno speak 😄

Cerberus++;

Have you tried the speick soap tub? Good stuff IMO

Yayy, winner++;

@walden@sub.wetshaving.social, @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social, @whosgotthepudding@sub.wetshaving.social, do I have your permission to share your addresses with sahenders?

I'm not pinging DaveWave94 because sahenders already knows his deets.

Rinse, Repeat

  • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
  • Razor: Koraat Sparschweinchen (7/8", "Sheffield-style" full hollow, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

Same setup as yesterday. The Koraat is a really pleasant razor.

Edit: My shaving result was criticised by Djunior. My chin wasn't smooth enough for his high standards

MMMM24

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Papa Eld with Declaration Grooming B3 knot
  • Razor: EldrormR Industries - GEM Division: MM24
  • Blade: Personna GEM PTFE
  • Lather: House of Mammoth Shire
  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth Shire 2
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth Shire 2
  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

A rare Shire trickhole shave (for me). It's pretty much my favourite Mammoth scent, but I wish there was a Shire splash without cooling agent.

The B3 knot is pretty much what I want a badger knot to feel like, and I'm using it today to set the comparison bar for tomorrow's floppy Gelousy knot use. If using the Gelousy knot doesn't spark joy then, I'll rip it out again to deepen the hole and reduce its loft.

Despite my whiny tone, this was a wonderful shave and a good start into the week.

Mammoth Monday

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Papa Eld with Declaration Grooming B3 knot
  • Razor: Böker S.S. Paris Wins
  • Lather: Summer Break Soaps Valedictorian
  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth Shire
  • Fragrance: Zoologist Snowy Owl

I had used this scent combo before and Snowy Owl can't keep up with the tobacco deliciousness of the Shire and Valedictorian, its warm florals will still be here after the soap and splash have long faded.

Mammoth Monday

  • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BOAR (31 mm × 57 mm bleached boar)
  • Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy
  • Lather: House of Mammoth/Noble Otter/Declaration Grooming Cerberus
  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth/Noble Otter/Declaration Grooming Cerberus liniment
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Black Watch

First Mammoth Monday for me since before TabOktoberfest.

Warm and fruity Cerberus is a wonderful scent and I long regretted not getting the splash and edt, but apparently a new batch is being made these days. Second chances ++;

I'm in a Black Watch mind set the days it seems because it seems to pair well with so many scents.

Thirtieth Day of TabOKtoberfest

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur Unnumbered 8/8" ( hollow ground, stainless steel, round point)
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

The honeymoon phase with this gentle giant continues. It's smooth, loud, and effortless. The size, the geometry, the audible feedback are right down my alley. To think that I had this blade lying around in my to fix pile for a year, this turned out to be a nice surprise hidden treasure.

Stank ++;

Giddy Up for Smoky Sample Straightember

  • Brush: Zenith 506U N (50/50 horse mane/tail)
  • Razor: Böker Abalone
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts – Necromantic
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash
  • Fragrance: Maison Margiela – REPLICA By The Fireplace

I decided to get this horse brush after talking to @PorkButtsNTaters666@sub.wetshaving.social and @sgrdddy@sub.wetshaving.social , and it's been a surprisingly unsurprising first use. The brush has medium backbone and is lightly scritchy. There's no funk and it lathers easily. I'm looking forward to getting to know this brush better over the coming days and weeks.

The Abalone treated me very well again today.

Loving the scents today. Sweet and smoky.
