I'm satirising your own shitty position, even if unsuccessfully. You seem to be set on missing that point out of anything you're saying.
I don't think it has to be a choice and both actually need to happen. It sounds like you just want to continue eating meat despite everything you know.
Also the ethics of killing sentient creatures for the pleasure of taste aside, the problem is one, as you said of economy and scale of industry, which compounds both the natural effects and the cruelty, to not only the slaughtered but the slaughterer and the consumer too. What we're both saying is the capitalist system is inherently shit for our environments, but I believe that killing animals for our pleasure is also bad for our psyches.
So in reality they inherently have many fascistic elements that are unavoidable is what you're actually saying. On paper everything looks like roses.
Guns are about fear and cowardice.
Any modern culture that pushes weaponry to its centre is a culture that plays its hand more openly with its manipulation of fear. It's like flags; some countries are flag crazy, they represent a lot of violence and pressure to fall in line, but they seem benign and they are surrounded by tales of heroism and hard-obtained "freedom" from a spooky other.
I believe weaponry fetishism takes this one step stupider and cuts out all the implications and supposedly says, "I will fucking shoot your whole family if you mess with me and mine!" But even that is a lie, it actually just tells people to fall in line with the accepted norms or be constantly threatened with execution.
It is a huge pressure to put on any group of people and can only lead to various modes of destruction. Ultimately it does not at all seem to be an actual facet of any so-called "cultural" reality (as with most elements of any group of people's accepted norms), but it seems to connect to the maintaining of control over the economic movements of those living within a set of controlled borders.
Everything always leads back to finding ways to control the largest amount of people most effectively to continue the wealth of the most wealthy elements of that group. I believe any culture that heavily relies on nationalism and religion is actually a culture of violence, and plays on fear and foments cowardice to maintain control.
Weaponry is just the dumbest, shittiest end of that stick; the US, on the whole, seems like a very shitty-handed idiot who is also constantly soiling themselves because they are so scared, waving their hands around, smearing shit on everything they touch.
Europeans are not so different, they just pretend the shit on their hand isn't shit, but some sort of a traditional chocolate mousse, and pretend their trousers are also not brimming with faeces, but, hey, at least they don't have guns! (I'm not even sure if that was sarcasm or not).
I guess I believe everyone is just as fucked as everyone else under this global economic system until our wealth and value mindset is shifted towards the current lies of egalitarianism told inside any modern Western education system. Make those lies a reality!
Edit: Clarity.
They're like the Catholic Church of environmental activism.
It's very strange. I saw the other user's comment (thanks by the way! though I can't respond to you anymore), and changed my language to English and Undetermined, and my interface language to English, and I can see all my own posts and previous posts, but for some reason the comments in your posts are completely empty now:
Now another odd thing is happening. I added some languages and I can see my posts, but now the comments on this post have now disappeared for me.
I came here to ask the same thing. I made a community, made a few starter posts and also a lemmy support post, I can see all my comments and can see on my profile that I have made 9 posts all in all, but can't see any of them (it's the same on Connect, Jerboa and browser). I can still access posts I have made comments on through the comments on my profile, but they don't show up either on my profile or on the community I created.
Edit: I also just made a new test post on my own community and that also doesn't show up anywhere (though it added the post to the total number of posts I made on my profile).
Cheers for the response!
The Vapor Genie definitely looks less intrusive to an environment with its woody sherlock pipe form, and using a normal lighter probably helps it not feel like a crack pipe, which is my main worry with butane portables. If I was gonna get a portable now and money wasn't an issue I think I would get the Tiny Might 2 (or 1). I bought 1 electronic portable years ago (the xmax v2 pro) and I did not enjoy it at all, the newer generations of electronics are looking pretty ok though. There is one electronic portable ball vape too! The Yllvape Angus, though I think we still need a couple more generations for my liking. But things are moving super fast!
Edit: Is this message visible? I keep getting error messages.
tl;dr: Get the O'Connell TKO (though I haven't used it, conceptually it is a logical improvement to the current baller head injector/diffuser lineup across the board, the way it is built the plant material is closer to the heating element so you can get similar effects at lower temperatures, which means less harsh vapour).
I personally went the aliexpress route, with some DIY bits and bobs, mainly because I am in Europe and am on a budget. My favourite head I own is the Tiodw Mini, which is a titanium enclosure. I prefer a lot of airflow so I use the larger 4mm balls. The store I buy from is b2cvape, their newest head is the Tiodw Mini 2.0 (which is a hybrid injector and diffuser baller head). It will probably be my next purchase. But with this route you also need to buy 3mm or 4mm rubies (made from corundum), a 20mm coil, a PID and a bowl (the new head is both an injector and a diffuser so getting 2 types of bowl is a good option), a handle (not 100% necessary) and some sort of bong. Excluding the bong you can get all of this from that store for around 150USD.
However, if you're in the US or have no budgetary issues, you should look into Cannabis Hardware products. Their entry level B0 is a tried and true daily driver for a lot of heavy duty users. They also released a similar double sided (diffuser and injector) head attachment recently called the Tomcat, and 2 new more budget oriented heads the F16 and F22 (one is a diffuser and one an injector, you use the Tomcat to stick these together).
Another great option is the Malaysia based Qaromashop, they have great glass and ceramic baller head options. Their Qaroma heads are glass (its weaker but has better flavour), Ceroma are ceramic (really great budget option, the aliexpress store also has a ceramic option which was my first ball vape and is also great for taste). Their Taroma Lite Plus seems like the good budget option they offer.
There is a company called gophase3 which sells smaller baller heads which fit 14mm bowls, they look very interesting and use zirconia for some of their baller heads which I have heard tastes great and hits as hard as larger baller heads which contain more balls.
The O'Connell TKO seems to be a favourite among serious vaporists (lol), their design moves the plant material and the heating element closer to each other so you can have great effects at lower temps. I think this would be the one I would get if money/delivery wasn't an issue.
It's a racist-off folks!
