Glad you like it!

The shadow around those elements is intentional--the SwiftUI component that renders those elements has extremely limited styling options, and so can't take the nice rounded border. The shadow is there to provide visual distinction against the background.

Autoplay is planned--forgot to add it to the planned features. It'll likely be iOS18 only.

Pure black is also in the works.

Gif support is still one of our major outstanding tasks. We are currently working on a 2.0 version of the app, and are hoping to ship it with full inline gif support.

We plan to completely overhaul our markdown handling for the next major release, which will include both properly handling Lemmy's dialect quirks and integrating markdown editing tools into the composer.

I'm truly sorry. If there were another way, we'd have taken it, but it's just not feasible for a team as small as ours working in our free time in an ecosystem that evolves as fast as SwiftUI to offer long-term backwards compatibility without seriously compromising the quality of the app.

We unfortunately can’t make long press the collapse post gesture, since that is already taken by the system context menu behavior. We can, however, add an option to disable tap-to-collapse, since we already have the alternative of swiping very far to the left to collapse a comment implemented.

Swipe actions on expanded posts should be feasible, but I’m not going to promise it until I’ve reviewed our other planned features and verified that there aren’t other uses for that gesture under discussion.

There are a few reasons we switched, but the largest by far was the fact that artist who made our old logo just vanished and didn't leave us the original files for that logo, so iterating on it would first require a total reconstruction of those files. This one is made by one of our core contributors, Sjmarf, and we have the original files so we can adapt it and iterate on it even if he leaves the team.

We're working on it! We've got some nice new search stuff in early development, still working out the ux but it should be out in the next build or two

Thank you! This is very helpful. We've got this on our issue tracker as a top priority--we've got some promising leads on it and are hoping to have a fix out soon.

We’ve got compact comments slated for 1.1, so they should be available in the next major release.

We're working on it! We've got a rough implementation, but it's rough--we're hoping to get it polished up and down the pipeline soon
