Always happy to see Captain Tycho. Metal or Finecast?

Nice Job.

You didn't want to wait around for the one with the ball gag?

Looks great, the couloir scheme pops!

[-] fearofthedark@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I think that's 40k, haha

As Bob Ross would say 'Now I'm just going to paint a happy little Gargant over here'

I've had a look through the site, but may have missed something. Everything else seems to be plastic or resin (shudder). That said, I may have missed something.

Who remembers the original Land Raider Featured in the pages of the Rogue Trader Rule book?

This beast went onto inspire the iconic kit that GW went onto produce.

Yeah, that's Super Hans

I have no problem with the new models, sure some of it isn't my kind of thing but that has always been the case.

For me one of the big draws of 40k was the empire in decline narrative. Ancient technology being kept alive by techno-priests, the fact that most of the technology is irreplaceable, the emperor who created these super humans is a corpse so this is what we have. It isn't going to get better. Primaris marines sort of shit all over that.

I won't be buying any, but fair play to folks who do. Hobbies are about what you enjoy, not what other folks will.

A sad day indeed, I still don't understand why they didn't just do a redesign instead of the whole Primaris thing.

The miniatures for the Horus Heresy are great, so updating old kits with new ones could have worked really well.

Lovley work. Does Zeke make all his cronies get haircuts to match his?

The one on the right needs a goblin green base.

I know exactly what you mean, I still have the big catalogues from the start of the 90s and am very guilty of staring at them for too long.

And then foolishly looking at the price of the miniatures on eBay! Oh my

The pages at the back of the Citadel Journal used to contain 'Dok Butcha's Klinik' where they used to suggest examples of the kinds of conversions you could make from the citadel miniature range.

I wish I had the money to make an army of these wierdos.

I hope it's okay to post here, but if you like oldskool miniatures and yearn for the past, feel free to join me over at https://lemmy.world/c/oldhammer I'd love to see what you have to share.

I'm planning to post up some photos of my old books over the next few days, hope to see you there.
