A bit of saltiness you say? Looking for a dose of umami flavour?

This stuck out:

Throughout the ABC's interview, Ms Allan repeated well-worn lines about her government's agenda, diverted questions about stamp duty reform to the need for a national approach, and said her government was spending hundreds of millions of dollars fixing potholes in regional roads.

Nice to see the political talk called out and summarised rather than printed in full, even if it was only to serve as a way to push readers to watch the video.

Yeah if a roundabout is small - single lane, 2-3 exits, 10m or less in diameter - you can get away with doing this (indicating your final direction).

Once they get bigger - bigger diameter, multiple lanes, more exits - its safer to indicate your intention to enter and exit the roundabout.

Hmm as an owner of a couple of EV’s, I’ve not seen the deals where electricity retailers offer this. I wonder if I’m missing out on something here.

My electricity bills have definitely gone up (over the winter as per usual). However, with roughly 5kw of solar and DST kicking in soon, I’ll be able to charge the cars almost solely from solar.

Cars with larger batteries will benefit from being able to do run around during the week and charge from solar during the weekend. Edit: I’ll note that for me (in Vic) it is still vastly cheaper to charge from solar than to feed the solar back into the grid.

Also, the tax concessions only seem to apply to these when buying new and also when doing them via leasing / ie as a company supplied vehicle. Please correct me if I’m wrong here.

Red Cross’s Rediplan (https://www.redcross.org.au/prepare/) has an iOS and Android app that makes this simple to plan for all emergencies (not just for bushfires).

When I went to a Red Cross course a few years ago, they were big on the pillow case thing for kids - fill a pillow case with your fave teddy bear and clothes. They had ones made up that go through the process with them.

Bendigo’s GovHub was another with this sort of construction technique. Interestingly Fairbrother had a lot to do with that as well.

Ever since I heard them described as adult sippy cups I’ve kinda avoided drinking coffee with the lid on.
