Sorry, been swamped with things. Will approve accounts now :P

It's an overall issue within the fediverse. Thankfully there are tools and ideas being discussed on how to best address it.

It's a known issue with lemmy right now. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2072

I actually helped discover the issue and triage it with others, so hopefully there will be a fix for it soon.

Does your instance allow nsfw content?

[-] gavi@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 1 year ago

Absolutely. There needs to ideally be content warnings, or at the very least a distinction between NSFW and pornographic content.

I was under the assumption that was what they were asking, I could be wrong though.

Delete and reinstall the apps, its likely due to mitigation procedures we took.

Content creators have been quite good about NOT spam crossposting. The reports right now are just spam reports against anyone with the audacity to post an OF link in comments or body in the communities that allow them which is just extremely annoying. Like if spam crossposting becomes an issue we will discuss and address that but overall content creators have been good on that end.

Admin for lemmynsfw here, I just wanted to chime in that I 100% agree and feel that this is a feature that needs be baked into lemmy as a software overall. People who do not want to see pornography need to be able to block it in some way at the very least. There also does need to be an overall differentiation between NSFW content and pornography as well, since it feels particularly problematic to not have a distinction between the two. I think it is likely that content warnings will come to lemmy though, but we will see. Our back-end team is currently working to figure this out to identify our specific needs as an instance, but it's an uphill battle. Hopefully connect developers add this feature at least to provide a temporary fix, and I hope other app devs follow suit.

American law is honestly just deeply convoluted and annoying. Having to take into account the 50 mini countries in a trench coat hyper-specific legalities is so fun!
