I'd love to know just how Hate Dept saw this playing out. Like they're too popular to get dropped? ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป

What a ridiculous self-own.

Brutus are one of my favourite bands out of the past decade. They're outstanding musicians and their songwriting is incredible.

They don't care about your feelings.

Ooh I haven't heard of Spike Hellis. I'm going to check that out ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Imagine a friend asked you for a playlist of your 5 favourite tracks to introduce them to industrial/darkwave/goth/ebm/etc. Which ones would you choose? They don't have to be genre-defining or from foundational bands, just ones you enjoy the most.

These would be mine:

Skinny Puppy - Assimilate
Fields of the Nephilim - The Watchman
Wumpscut - Totmacher
Faith and the Muse - Annwyn, Beneath the Waves
Youth Code - For I am Cursed

What are yours?

That sounds like a reasonable request.

If you're open to advice, I'd suggest exploring communicating and unpacking needs with your partner. In the example you've given, you've shared with her that you need things written down in order to better remember a task. Her reply "you should just be able to remember" is unhelpful on it's surface, but it's possible that behind that is a need that's being unmet. Perhaps she feels she's not being listened to? it's worth exploring this with her.

It will depend entirely on the accommodations you are asking of them. What seems unreasonable to them may feel reasonable to you, and the same the other way around.

More details would definitely be useful here.

I didn't know about Sandrider before this compilation was announced, but I'm definitely gonna check out their discography now. The March of the Pigs cover goes hard.

Redux Records do great covers albums where they get a plethora of great noise/doom/stoner/sludge bands to cover classic albums, and they've just announced the next one in their series will be The Downward Spiral. There will also be a companion Best of Nine Inch Nails (Redux) album alongside it.

I can't wait for this to come out.

Anyone here remember Alas? I used to read this almost religiously in the early 2000s.
