Just use the 1.1.1.1 app, or on your computer (or router) change the DNS to 1.1.1.1

Indonesia is soft blocking via DNS only, very easy to bypass.

Using a dedicated browser should be good enough. Since you might need some proprietary google stuff, I'd suggest chromium portable, that way once the class is over, you can simply delete the whole folder and call it a day.

No, they are garbage. I block every single one I come across. Else Lemmy is nothing but an echo chamber.

[-] godless@latte.isnot.coffee 70 points 1 year ago

That really depends on the cat. Mine don't care whatsoever.

You can see for yourself, the federation / defederation list is always public.

[-] godless@latte.isnot.coffee 60 points 1 year ago

Agree. When my DVD player back in 2000 came with a bright blue power-on LED, that crap started to bother me. Sitting right under the TV, so watching anything in a darkened room means I had that fucker blinding me all the time. Nothing a little duct tape can't fix, but that's not exactly helping.

Ever since I've been actively avoiding devices where I can't dim & disable the LEDs.

ELAs are not enforceable in a federated world. Once the data is copied to another instance, it falls under their domain. And in turn their admins would have to make sure their users accepted the ELA before interacting with the content mirrored from lemmy.world, and so forth. That would be the death of federated networks.

Consider all your content to be public domain by default, including private messages, because admins can access those in unencrypted form.

The cracked Sync app is going strong. They patched reddit official's api key into the apk, and also modified the app ID and browser agent to reflect the official one. They practically can't tell the traffic apart, so NSFW and everything is fully functional.

https://github.com/Liz-chan/sink-for-everyone/releases/

This has been discussed in the official reddit sync discord and the original dev, being the champ he is, even contributed to it.

Sync for Lemmy is also on the way. I never used Boost so can't tell how it compares to Sync, but I used it for >12 years and was always super happy.

Might as well plug the new /c/syncforlemmy@lemmy.world here, I guess.

Unbedingt benötigte Apps? (latte.isnot.coffee)

Moin!

Gibt es insbesondere seit covid neue must-have apps?

Danke!

Been torrenting all through with 1337x and yts.mx despite paying for Netflix. The occasional piratebay for more obscure movies. RARBG was my favorite tracker, but sadly, they are no more.

Luckily I live in China where nobody bothers about copyright laws, so I can max out my 1gbit connection that costs me 2 full dollars a month 🙃

I don't like them one bit. Pollute the environment, make unnecessary noise, and are dangerous.

I just can't wait to get the first working version on my phone. Literally grinning like an idiot just now.

Are requests permitted here? (latte.isnot.coffee)

Been looking for a specific show for some time but can't seem to find it anywhere, but before making a specific request I'd check in with you first.

Couldn't find anything in the sidebar, but assuming everything is still a bit of a work in progress, I'd rather be on the safe side :-)

Bunch of sites are streaming the sinking ship in real time:

Here's my favorite: https://www.twitch.tv/rawreporting

Let's see what the next 48h are gonna bring... My guess? Not much, and we'll just keep moving forward. Screw them.
