This is a chicken and an egg problem.

Any software project with a substantial user base does not have this issue.

This is what happens when we've conditioned a generation that any prices businesses charge is fair as long as you can afford it.

You don't have to feel pressured to donate.

Every additional user learning the software is a benefit to the ecosystem as a whole.

I kept saying these subscriptions were scams and businesses just wanted a lifeline to our wallets.

Nobody wanted to listen because "they're a business and they need to make money."

Prices suck because of useful idiots.

Not in the spirit of free software, if you ask me.

I dunno, the censorship is what creates an echo chamber on lemmy.

Some people make it clear that their ideas are not worth entering my head.

That's when they get the easy-block.

Sometimes, the only winning move is not to play.

Pirate here, can confirm.

Playing the new God of War was great on Linux, though.

Honestly, I've been pirating games that I own on Steam for awhile now.

It's so fucking annoying to launch a game on Steam, only to have to sit through some update that didn't get triggered for some stupid reason.

How come we need this additional layer on top of another layer on top of another layer?

Is there any way wine can be changed so proton and GE are not necessary?

Thanks. The setting wasn't showing up at first, so I switched to Wayland.

It still wasn't showing up, so I disconnected and reconnected my controller. Then it appeared.

The box was unchecked, but the controller's touchpad still worked. I needed to check it, apply, and then uncheck it and apply again in order to turn off the touchpad.

I'm glad there's a way, although there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.
