Just tryin to get these mothafukin snakes on this mothafukin plane.
I also think it can be a power trip. And they may also think that the person is just "bad" and deserves punishment for whatever other crimes (real or imagined).
It really seems overblown to me. Maximum hype with minimum actual results delivered. Not saying it is useless, but I don't think we're going to see entire professions eliminated overnight as is being predicted.
I really think calling it "artificial intelligence" is a stretch. It's guided pattern recognition which can do some flashy things but is not intelligence any more than parroting speech is.
Plenty of sizzle, very little beef. What will be the next flavor du jour?
I saw a cop on the news a few years ago saying he smelled alcohol on someone's breath as justification for stopping someone. Not sure that was factual.
There's always some bullshit reason they can use to stop someone and then bullshit charges they can apply.
Let the poor little dwarf see his granmaw, you meddling coppers!
THANK GOD. I WAS SO WORRIED!!!
Looks like it will be a BROWN Christmas here this year. Which is a grim fucking reminder that we've fucked the planet and it is only going to get worse.
So. There's that.
I completely agree.
Many years ago I applied for a McJob at Worst Buy. They had mandatory drug testing even (especially?) for the lowest level job I was applying for.
I couldn't pee when I went to the medical place for the test. Not sure I recall correctly but I think I went back a second time and drank a lot of water and was full of piss so I could do it. They never got back to me. No idea why. I guess they picked up the nicotine and didn't want to hire a cigarette smoker.
When I think about this now I'm pretty horrified that I even did the pee test. It would be exceptional circumstances for me to do this for anything employment related now. I'm very clean now but it is none of their fucking business. It does surprise me that it is legal.
Good, but the US should do better. I would support outlawing new construction of non-renewable energy. And strict timelines for utilities to become renewable.
I think we're past the point when we should just "encourage" or incentivize clean energy. We need to DEMAND it.
No need to be sour about it.
If the top actual PAY is about $75k/yr, then are they getting $100K/yr in benefits? WTF benefits could cost that much? Are they flying everyone to the Mayo Clinic for checkups every year? Gold toilets? wtf?
Next we should cut off thieves' hands. Then harvest organs randomly from prisoners.
They're criminals. They should not have any rights. Fuck em, right?
