Will take a look. If it uses a fork of kbin (with same API). I should be able to enable it pretty easily.

Hey y’all, it’s been a while. Had a rough month with a flare up of my chronic pain. Doing better now and had a chance to recharge. And I’m so dying to get back to contributing to the #fediverse community ✨❤️

I'm taking it slow because of some personal stuff I'm dealing with right now. But I'll be back soon. Appreciate y'all <3

That’s why on Artemis I added a plus to the icon of a community. Has really helped with fleshing out my subs 👌

Nice! Must be fun to see the whole process end to end! How did you get started?

[-] hariette@artemis.camp 5 points 1 year ago

Gorgeous. How long have you been growing??

[-] hariette@artemis.camp 4 points 1 year ago

Yay! And it’ll for sure evolve with user feedback. Hope to get the initial version out this weekend 🤞

I actually shared a screenshot on my mastodon. Here is a preview:

FYI, been working on figuring out the login bug with Artemis on Android. Have a lead, let's see if it pans out 🤞🏼

After that, it's looking at the issue tracker and prioritizing. So definitely react with thumbs up on things you want done ASAP.

At the same time, working on adding:

  1. User profile content feed
  2. Saving posts
  3. Microblogging
  4. Lemmy support

A lot of the things above have been in the works for weeks. So it seems like a lot but it's less work that what you might think :)

Ended up having to ban a bunch of accounts from my instance. They just kept coming for a bit.

Artemis is ready for public beta. Just waiting on the API to get merged in!

Tho if u wanna join https://artemis.camp, to get on right now, here’s the TestFlight link. Getting Play Store link tomorrow. We’re running a fork of the API branch.

Neat. I wonder if it’s using the original reddit algorithm as inspo.

Just a few more days for public beta!

But hopefully/kbin gets more app options overall. Especially with more features than lemmy, like following domains and profiles🤞

Yeah, AI can really help with covering gaps. I dig the banner. If something better comes up, then cool, it can be replaced. Until then tho 😜

Getting close to a release candidate for next update and the public beta on https://artemis.camp instance!

Back on June 13th I jumped ship from Reddit.

https://tech.lgbt/media_proxy/110539622656202665/original

I went with /kbin, and I really needed an app. So I said I would make one. And, well, four hours later I had the first prototype of what would become Artemis!

A Long But Short Way

It really hasn't been that long but it feels like a LOT of time has passed. I blame the massive inflection point we're at in the #Threadiverse’s history. But also, just look how much of a community has formed around Artemis! Our Discord server is only a few weeks old but has over 1,200+ users. So many people are helping from every corner. And over 3,000 testers signed up!

One number remains small: Only 700 are actively using the private beta right now. But even that is soon to change...

/kbin API

This PR adds an official API to /kbin. It's mostly done and currently in review.

Up until now, Artemis has been using a homegrown API that uses browser automation to interface with /kbin. Great for the limited beta but not really scalable.

Once the API goes live, it'll be time to say goodbye to the scrappy backend. And hello to faster and more reliable everything.

Public Beta

Artemis is still in beta, and being public doesn’t mean leaving beta. There are still tons of features I want to add and tons of QOL/bugs I need (and want!) to fix/improve. But since Artemis is the only /kbin app, being in beta is a hell of a lot better than being nothing, and I'll be opening up the beta within the next few weeks, based on how long the official API PR takes.

Private Beta Update

For those of you in the private beta queue: I'll be inviting our biggest wave of testers using the https://artemis.camp instance, which runs a fork of the /kbin software with the current API changes that are in development.

I'm preparing for that by wrapping up the integration with the new API: Fixing some high priority bugs and doing an accessibility pass. Huge thanks to every tester who helped out with accessibility testing already!!
