I went ahead and just deleted my entire pictrs cache and will definitely disable caching other servers images when it becomes available.

With most VPN providers you can use OpenVPN clients to connect to them. But if you are asking can i host an OpenVPN server for free and use it for piracy the answer is no. The entire point of a VPN is to conceal yourself and you are not accomplishing that if ypu are hosting it yourself. You need a VPN service.

Yep, time will tell if the users that left were the quality users.

Chernobyl comes to mind as the biggest fuck up ever. Whenever I think I fucked up I try to remember, it can never be as bad as Chernobyl.

Just looking for a simple app that can stream local rstp. I have been using VLC up to this point but im looking for something a little less glitchy. I'd also like the ability to view multiple streams at the same time.

EDIT: I realized after making this post that I forgot to mention I'm looking for an Android app specifically.

Besides the privacy aspect of it all, I just know in 5 years they will declare the camera a security problem and shut it off. I want a porch camera that lasts for 20 years.

I never really saw the point in it being on Steam anyways. Maybe so it was easier to get up and running on the Steam Deck?

Lemmy has to reach a critical mass of users before the more niche communities start to grow. Most of it is all tech communities which is expected. Lucky for me thats my interests.

So I've recently been interested in doing a complete switch from Windows to Ubuntu, and I've been playing around with WSL2 in Windows quite a bit and I have to admit I am pretty impressed with their implementation.

However, one of the reasons I've been drawn to Linux these days is the privacy aspect, and I'm looking to get everyone's thoughts on whether using Linux apps in WSL improves your privacy at all, or do I need to just flat out get off windows to get any sort of privacy benefit. My plan is to eventually get off Windows completely, but I guess I'm wondering if WSL is a good middle ground.

Bitwarden, bonus points if you self host it. I use the Vaultwarden variation.

I actually dont mind most of them not coming over. There will be far less posts from people whining about getting viruses from Pirate Bay.

I'm self-hosting the docker containers and I noticed the pictrs directory is steadily growing because of the cached images. Does anyone know if it gets cleaned up automatically or are hosters running scripts to clean it up after a certain amount of time? The install guides make no mention of it from what I can find.
