Well guess I'll add one more to my three a day.
uBlock origin and CanvasBlocker/JShelter are probably enough. There's also uMatrix, which gives you more granular control over what to block or allow.
Reminds me of MusicBee, good ol' days.
I've been waiting on this issue the day it was posted... It doesn't bother me as much as I have a second vertical monitor so the flashing is at the edge of the vertical one, and it's definitely reduced but not gone away. Coupled with these recent driver updates, my X server just gets slower over time (not in game, thankfully).
Nvidia doesn't even have to go FOSS, they can just go OS, and this issue could probably be resolved by now due to increased transparency of what the f is going on with the drivers, as well as better collaboration between kernel developers and driver developers. Who knows what they're attempting behind the curtains, 3+ releases since this bug was filed and still not fixed.
A genuine fuck you, Nvidia.
Nope, seems like an issue for a lot of people, including me.
Consider refurbished or second hand, please don't buy a brand new laptop as there is so much waste in the world already. If you buy from big brands, you might be able to buy replacement batteries. If not, install Linux and use TLP. You could also ask the seller to measure the battery life. I was patient and managed to score a used ThinkPad and the battery health was 98% when I bought it.
That is pretty big news, it's been many many years since I've run 3rd party launchers because I can't stand the janky animations and transitions. I hope this behaviour remains when it gets out of beta and also hope to see it on GrapheneOS.
Connect isn't FOSS, as far as I know
Another great option for the userbase to choose from. I like Voyager for what it is but it just sticks out like a sore thumb on my Android phone since most of my apps follow the Material You guidelines with either Jetpack Compose or its Flutter counterparts. It looks very appropriate for iOS, down to the slower animation speed. Would be nice if like Saber (the handwritten note app), the dev adds a toggle which allows you to switch between iOS or Android UI components, or just make it more OS agnostic-looking. But that's their personal design choice, I'm just glad we have so many competent Lemmy clients now.
Can you share what Traefik settings you configured Lemmy with? Mine was just a simple router and service with a compress middleware.
How about Uptime Kuma status pages? They're separate from the admin page and you can add Docker containers as monitors.
