Some of the assets look clearly similar to the ones in Stardew Valley, while some are completely different. It's... interesting to see.

I love the idea of backyard chickens. My parents got some in my childhood; and it allows you to get farming mechanics in a non-farm game.

The five missing ones are:

  1. Acknowledge the central point.
  2. Thou shalt not soapbox.
  3. Thou shalt not decontextualise what others say.
  4. Thou shalt not claim intentions to defend thine or someone else's actions.
  5. Thou shalt not convey "I disagree" through feigned lack of understanding.

Bonus: the original version of the 8th was

  1. Thou shalt not claim with certainty things that you do not know for certain.

The current 8th (Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour) is a forgery. Some assumer got called out over and over because of the older 8th, since he really liked to make shit up, so he restricted it into near uselessness. Source: I'm Lucifer, I know it. :^)

Relevant reply from the developer. I'll transcribe it here.

@everyone // Our game "Infestation 88" is set in the 1980s, with the year 1988 chosen simply due to its symmetrical design in the game's artwork/logo. Unfortunately, we were unaware of any additional meaning the number '88' has. However, after learning about this, we're changing the game's name to "Infestation: Origins" We apologize for our ignorance on the and appreciate that this was brought to our attention so we could address it ASAP!

With respect to our Discord server, we also apologize for the current lack of moderation in place, and will be working on remedying this ASAP. As per the rules, any hateful speech or content in any regard will result in a ban. We also plan to update our FAQ soon when we have a chance to address common questions that pop up. We greatly appreciate your patience and support!

@here Due to the overwhelming number of posts and rule-breaking content, we're temporarily pausing discussion until we have better moderation in place. We hope to have things back online soon! Thank you again for your patience.

Who said that the word doesn't haue "u"?

Was that my Father that went hence so fast?
Ben. It was: what sadnes lengthens Romeo's houres?
Ro. Not hauing that, which hauing, makes them short
Ben. In loue.
Romeo. Out.
Ben. Of loue.
Rom. Out of her fauour where I am in loue.
Ben. Alas that loue so gentle in his view,

Romeo and Juliet, foglio I, around verse 170

...good enough for Shakespeare, good enough for me. No need for a fifth letter!

I'm half-joking with the above, but the word did use to be spelled with "U" instead of "V". Past then both were taken as the same letter. [/trivia]

I think that there is some merit on his reasoning, when it comes to the skin fauna and bacteria. However soap is not there just for disinfection, it's also to remove grime, as it makes oily grime soluble. And with or without capitalism, you don't want to be grimy.

Also, the body odour part screams "appeal to nature" from a distance. Sure, we are animals; and sure, we produce body odour naturally. However that does not mean that body odour is desirable.

OK. Now speaking as just another user:

It's useless to speak with Reddit admins. They don't give a fuck. Harassment goes rampant in that site.

If you're seeing astroturfing in Lemmy, I suggest you to gather evidence and submit it to the admins of the instance where the astroturfing accounts are registered to. Do it through a direct message, make sure to be succinct and well-organised, and when possible archive/screenshot content instead of direct linking. (And save those screenshots and archive links in your computer, too - your lawyer will thank you.)

I've seen this site. It's a great proof of concept, and it works perfectly well for what the developer wanted to highlight - it loads amazingly fast and there's no bullshit. It's just not a good cooking site for unrelated reasons, I'll give you guys some examples:

  • Lack of synonyms; e.g. barszcz/borscht, cuque/cuca.
  • That bloody weird obsession to tie cuisines with governments=countries, even when it doesn't make much sense.
  • Barely any variations listed. And even if there was, ingredient-based tagging can quickly become a mess if you enable this.

That is an enormous amount of words to say, “Elon Musk is a piece of shit.”

More like "Elon Musk is a piece of shit and he bought Twitter on a whim, because he's bored, too rich to care, too big to fail."

Okay... which Lemmy admins? The ones from which Lemmy instance? Are you talking on general grounds, on specific admins, or did you just assume that there are global admins here? The very point of the platform is that, if you don't like how a certain instance runs (this includes the admins!), you can hop into another instance.

As far as I know, Lemmy itself doesn't even track karma, only punctuation for each piece of content. At most you have a few phone applications figuring out your personal karma by adding the punctuation of your stuff there.

If this system popped up, it would be something that the developers did. Not "the admins". And AFAIK they don't plan to, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Your screenshots show some "terrinefirex2" user proposing minimum karma to post. Is that user even an admin? If yes, of which instance?

I wish that this risk encouraged people to migrate out of YouTube. Specially content creators. PeerTube could get a bit more people.

When sharing content, please provide the context too. Like, what does "No more from Reddit." refer to? Does it mean that the site won't publish anything Reddit-related, that someone with an account called "Reddit" deleted it from the site, or what?

From the partially cropped text at the top, it seems that this is from Game Rant, right? I gave it a search for the keyword "reddit", and the only two relevant/on-topic tidbits were:

[Speaking as a mod]

This community is about Reddit and its downfall. I understand if you don't want to talk about this topic; but other people do.

Also, go easy on telling people what they should/shouldn't do. It's obnoxious.

Note that you can block whole communities from appearing on your feed, if you so desire. Check the settings.

[From another comment] Ah, you’re assuming I read the sublem title. I did not

Please, when commenting, make sure to check in which community you're commenting and the local rules.
