Curious to hear more opinions. I think there are technical nuances that I don't quite understand based on reading this comment (& subsequent replies)

they are appropriating what already existed and saying it in another way.

Isn't this humanity in a nutshell? Standing on the shoulders of Giants, etc.

I quit my job to start the year and I'm currently doing a sabbatical year. I'm apathetic about the idea of eventually honing in on a specialty to learn when I re-enter the workforce because I'm unsure how sustainable the skills I learn will be in demand for.

The only thing I can think of is expanding my base level understanding of LLMs. My bet is that they will become the foundation with which future projects are launched in the same way that elementary school is the foundation for basic reading/writing/comprehension skills.

Gotcha. Thanks for sharing. I ended up install forgejo yesterday but Gitea will be my next option if I encounter any issues

I've used it for a few months. I enjoy the idea of updating my progress after each reading session, so that hypothetically, I can see how fast I read.

Care to elaborate?

For me, it once caused an issue once when I thought I was deleting files to make space for /boot/efi/ being at capacity (dual booting issues at the time) when in actuality I was just moving files to an impromptu trash can created on /boot/efi (so the lack of space remained the same lol), but on numerous occasions, it has actually saved my ass and allowed me to retrieve documents that I realized I needed to look at again.

The only other quirk is it straight up ignores all options, so I've tried to delete interactively (rm -i) and then had to use trash-list to view the deleted files

Good to see someone else using trash & bat. Kudos for the clean alias file w/ commented headers too! I just started doing it recently and it makes edits/additions so much easier

Thanks for sharing, likely will implement this!

Ahhh yeah, my bad, it's libredirect

Thanks for linking! Currently using OpenBoard to get away from Swiftkey's privacy issues, but OpenBoard's lack of swipe has been a hard adjustment. FlorisBoard is en route to swipe tho it's still very much in beta (but feels like alpha with the current implementation)

Same. Privacy was trumped by the environment (still use blockers tho)

Yes you would be able to few the content that is similar to our content here as well.

I do think a better way to think of it is Mastodon & Kbin though.. You can definitely interact w/ toots on Kbin which stands out when compared to Lemmy. However, when compared to the Mastodon, the experience is not nearly as integrated enough to warrant using it as a replacement.

Based on what I heard on the Hard Fork podcast (where they interviewed Adam Mosseri), I think the plan is to build Thread-specific UI/UX experiences/features that go beyond the average ActivityPub client currently.

We would be able to read the threads, but we wouldn't get access to any additional functionality built on top of the ActivityPub structure unless we replicated their code base.
