Caffeine is toxic at around 10 grams, which is 80-100 cups of coffee. I'd you're defining "toxin" as triggering adverse effects at any dosage, then you need to include water, oxygen, and every other substance in existence.

Alcohol is a biological toxin at any dosage. I find that people who argue this point aren't doing it from an academic standpoint but to justify their own behavior.

Reply with a pic of your face or you're a coward and your comments mean nothing.

There's only 3 other comments at the time of your comment and none of them indicate having not read the article. You and I have a very different bar for "rather impressive."

You're right, assumptions were made, though your lack of context for posting that picture definitely lends itself to my narrative. Not refuting anything I said also doesn't help to destraw yourself.

Please, take this opportunity to clear the air and let us all know that you're aware of how damaging Chinese and Russian policies are for their people, just like Western capitalism for its people.

Anyone: Russia or China did something fucked up.

lemmy.ml: BUT WHAT ABOUT...!

These people are so black and white, it completely boggles the mind. They live in "X is bad so Y must be good!"

X and Y are both completely fucked and if you can't see that, then so are you.

Banning violent video games is government censorship and is a 1st amendment issue.

Banning certain behaviors on their own platform is entirely the perogative of the platform owners.

The two are not alike whatsoever.

Your argument is akin to saying that not allowing strangers to fill your home and smoke crack is "censorship" and is "just so dumb."

Disagreeing with the rule or the underlying reasoning is anyone's right, but disagreeing with a private owner's right to decide who and what is allowed on their property is insincere at best as you would never agree to your own rights being infringed.

I've blocked exactly one person on Lemmy and it's Yothgos or Yogthos or whatever the fuck their name is. They're either a propagandist in China or just a very sad person who posts prolifically about how amazing China is, dismissing any criticism against it. It's weird, sad, and annoying seeing them pop up in any thread about China. I assume they have or will pop in this thread but I don't know as they're blocked.

Multiple things are true at the same time. He's better for humanity than his alternative, he's not a reality show fuckwit, but doing his job is not a positive as it almost entirely entails keeping everyone firmly under the boot of capitalism. He's made improvements within the totally broken system and also done nothing to change the totally broken system.

I am in no way glad that he's our president but I'm glad it's him over the orange monster.
