As a developer in multiple hip startups I feel this meme in my core.
Here we are all on the spectrum my friend.
I 'am' an anarcho-communist and I don't like libtards. Libtards to me are 'progressive capitalists' that have no systemic insight what so ever and think all it takes to bring upon heaven on earth is to try and be nice.
I mean, you should try and be nice obviously but you are not going to soy latte your way outta this my dudes.
The one word more people need to know about: threatmodel
Define difference. For me personally it's pretty cool to finally have some sort of community that seems like minded on at least the surface level instead of just constantly being stared at as if I were a fish who just questioned the usefulness of water.
Will it spontaneously make come about utopia? Probably not but if that's your lower bar for doing anything I'm pretty sure you are gonna have a bad time.
You are saying this is a good thing right?
How the fuck did this article go from heat in Brazil to long covid research without any fucking bridge 🥲
I mean, I somewhat agree with the points its making and I'm heavily doubting the validity. When someone is not willing to further their own confirmation bias you really need to start asking questions.
You are saying destroyed, as if the job itself is a service. Work is cost not value. You automate work so you can use your energy in more valuable ways (best case scenario having a good time and caring for eachother).
The fruits of automation being distributed unfairly is another story. Inequality is a political reality, not a technical one.
However luckily this problem will be shortlived probably since we end up like bugs compared to AI real fast...
I am just happy to be dancing for once.
Actually this guy is just showing off how much extract he has by taking a dab from a fucking spoon. Goddamn junkies.
"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler"
What is your threatmodel here?
The problem for me with completely self hosting it is that it'll be relatively hard to get my backup, availability and sync requirements satisfied without a lot of effort.
Whereas I trust encryption in theory enough to hand my encrypted data to anyone. If the implementation is properly audited then I also trust that.
Most of my passwords are for accounts with 2fa anyway so even if both the storage leak and the encryption turn out to be subpar my threatmodel is still not violated.
