At this point, presently? People ~~acting like they are experts on Marxism without ever delving into Marxist theory~~

I've gotten LED bulbs at Goodwill for $1 for a 4-pack. I have those in my front and back porch lights which I keep on 24/7. I haven't had to replace them for years.
You may have an electrical issue that's causing them to burn out. Have you had an electrician test the wires?
Out of the frying pan, into the fire.
Singapore is known for it's low crime rate. Corporal punishment is widely accepted. Caning is used not only to punish criminals but also as a disciplinary measure in schools, the military, and domestically. You can find rattan canes for sale in the grocery store for about 50 cents.
It's always last minute.

I've never been to India. Unfortunately I've heard mostly negative things:
- Rampant rape of women
- Too much garbage
- Smells bad
- Treating anyone non-Indian badly or will try to take advantage of them financially
- Overcrowded
- Poverty
- Low wages
- Culture that puts down women / treats them much lower than men instead of being equal

I'm new to Lemmy but it just feels more like Reddit in the sense that if you're not part of the "hive mind", then you're just told to "go away" instead of participating in actual discussion.
It's caused me to post less than when I initially joined. There's not as much activity on Lemmy than on the Reddit equivalent in the main "channel" I read. So I've found myself wandering back to Reddit but I don't post or comment much there either.
This action makes a good headline for re-election purposes.
If you're not born rich you can become rich (or "comfortable") later in life. It doesn't mess you up forever.
