Ask and answer their popular questions again in here. Also, a popular search engine should list the thread on Lemmy.

However, they still forget that working with their products is the worst pain in the arse.

Probably. But maybe it is my habit of unshitifying every OS I install. I always decline telemetry, ads and suspecious features since Win10 rolled out. Same on my android phones. Use adblock since I cannot stand seeing ad banners without freaking out.

My point is: Microsoft and Google always offer opting-out. Users are responsible for accepting or declining services like telemetry. If you still cry about this crap: FIX YOUR CONFIG.

I cannot relate to most of your points. I've never seen the ads you describe. UI made a huge leap forward after they neglected it for decades, so it almost caught up to the usual Linux DEs (as they were some years ago). System performance is not worse than on my several Linux systems.

I just don't see the point in switching to Linux now, if you haven't already done years ago.

I prefer doing it right on the first try before I forget how to fix my projects when they are falling apart.

This is so true. Most of the tools justifying the use of WSL aren't even supported. Either because of technical limitations or because of security concerns.

Pro tip: Omit the dot . before the / to make sure you cleansed the language pack thoroughly.

You don't need functional hardware to run Linux. It just runs on anything.

The car must be a Mercedes. The drivers constantly forget blinking.

I predict a huge demand of workforce in five years, when they finally realized AI doesn't drive innovation, but recycles old ideas over and over.

One of the challenges when it comes to switching gaming setups from the Windows world to Linux, is fully-featured hardware support.

The Xbox Wireless Headset + official dongle does a decent job with a lot of bang for the buck. However, It's not (yet) supported by XONE or any other driver. I can connect it via bluetooth, but then it just sounds dull - no surprise!

That's why I'm now looking for a new headset which is approved by the community. It must offer decent (surround-)sound in games.
