If the mouse isn't going anywhere, either adjust the sensitivity or buy a new nub

quick cheap option is my shameless self insert post here:

(Oh wait... you were talking about that other clit???)

not disagreeing in any way, but just sharing reputable sources on that statement before anyone says it is a "conspiracy":

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-33398388

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/7/5/us-spied-on-brazilian-president-and-top-officials

Also, given that we are almost 10 years afte this article, I'm pretty sure any sane person (by that I mean someone who is not bolsonarist) can see where the (predictive) article agrees or disagrees with reality (past brazilian news and even memory of events):

Brazilian here: (TL:DR Bolsonaro did it first and, if it was staged, he at least acted pretty well and kinda believable (video link below))

Bolsonaro had a similar "assassination attempt" in 2018 that, until today, nobody can prove if it was an actual attempt, an planned move or (more beliavable to me given how stupid they are) an planned move that went wrong last minute and he indeed got stabbed in the belly.

There was a lot of weird things around like the lack of blood in the knife, the fact that the "murderer" got some really good lawyers who managed to shut down the case which is even weirder because, given how bolsonaro is vindictive, he would totally go scorched earth on that dude if the crime was real.

Yet, the video footage is at least an "believable" assassination attempt. And by that, I mean more believable than what Trump did.

Here is the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J6yRmvqQzE

Bolsonaro even went to hospital right after that, which makes hard to believe it's not real, but, at the same time, it is expected that all that was a facade back then.

as far as I know, Debian is the "gold standard" for stable linux to the point of being one of the most famous distros used on servers as well.

Exceptions are using unstable/testing versions of debian or accounting for an windows program to just work perfectly under wine (but that is a microsoft-linux integration which MS almost always wants to not happen)

If for whatever reason you don't want to buy a new nub and you feel that the nub is kinda loose (eg. you need to put too much pressure to move the pointer or you need to crank up to eleven the software sensitivity), one quick fix is to pad the hole of the nub with anything that makes the hole tighter and able to better grip the stick.

In the picture, I'm using a paper adhesive tape (which is easily removable) with the glue part towards the hole. Also, for obvious reasons, I highly recommend NEVER using anything permanent like glue or green stuff (use green stuff to manufacture your own diy nub if you feel courageous enough to do that)

I needed only two layer, but you will need to tweak around how many layers fits your use.

Now the hole is tighter and I can use the nub with 2.5 software sensitivity (on linux).

To insert the adhesive tape, cut a somewhat big square (area a bit larger than the nub) and, using the point of a mechanical pencil/needle or anything similar, gently push the tape inside the nub's hole and fix it to the "walls".

then put the nub back on the stick and see how it works.

after doing this "arts project", cut the excess of tape that can be seen once the nub is back to the trackpoint.

Thats it.

a good "gambiarra" that I'm using and will be probably my permanent solution (I'm not recommending to be your's permanent solution, but it will be mine's)

(PS: Gambiarra is a word that means what is supposed to be quick temporary fix that ends up being used for longer than that)

pro tip if you don't want to buy another cap (or you don't live in europe/US and only way to buy is by buying enough to open your own trackpad cap's store):

You can remove the cap, put a piece of soft paper or cotton inside the cap's hole and it will give you more leverage.

It is basically the same effect of using a taller cap.

You will need to tweak the amount of cotton/tissue to your taste, but I can use my trackpad with 3.0 sensitivity.

manwhile, before I mad this "DIWhy", I had to crank up to 10 and even that was not enough. Also the mouse basically teleported across screen with minimal touch (but still huge pressure to pain the tip of my finger)

I'd even go further to say that the male loneliness epidemic is tied with homophobia.

Not as in the usual way one thinks of homophobia, but as in a fear to do all these things women can do among themselves without being labeled gay or shunned by social peers as being needy or similar things.

Or better saying, it is the fear of having platonic male-male relationship being seen as homosexual relationship (hence, homophobia).

Also similar to why religious (online) comunities will usually deny the talk if "dissents" (also atheist comunities having rules against proselytizing, which do makes sense)

In the end, it sums up to "Don't be an asshole" rule

[–] nekbardrun@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I'll share a similar thought making a comparison with religious (or atheist) communities.

It makes total sense that a christian community won't want an "edgelord atheist" talking his point of view on how the christian God was an evolution from an old storm god of Israel.

Or maybe even offering an in-context interpretation of a bible text that goes against the christian narrative [my pet peeve is that David was no "stupid kid" that relied on faith and got a miraculous lucky shot to kill Goliath since David claims to have killed a lion and a bear (in close combat? or with the sling?) But yet, a lot of christians portray David as a weakling that somehow killed Goliath].

In a similar way, an atheist or ex-christian comunity don't want christians proselytizing there even though ex-christians deeply understand that the proselytizer probably really "cares about the lost souls". Even then, proselytizing there is a dick move because it is a safe space for people to process their removal from religion outside of a christian group (which will try to pull back in the "lost sheep").

Now, no matter if "you" (reader) are a christian or an atheist, I'm pretty sure that you can agree with at least the idea of christians having a safe space (if you are christian) or atheist having a safe space (if you are atheist/ex-christian).

What need to be done is only extrapolating that understanding to the other group.

Then extrapolate that understanding for why woman need an space where they can talk freely among themselves.

Good time to remind there exist two "models" of economy:

Commodity- Money- Commodity (where money is used for the sole purpose of getting commodities like house, food, clothes, healthcare, ...)

Money-Commodity-Money (Where the purpose of money is to turn commodities in more money, so the end goal is getting more money).

The first one is okay. Humans always did it.

The second one is a disease that starter with what we call "nowadays" Capitalism.

I'm saying that because I see on real life a lot of people conflating the two and thinking that "ending capitalism"=="ending comerce/trade/barter" when the truth is that "ending capitalism"=="ending hoarding wealth like a dragon"
