You mention not liking everyone on one device. Get a real calendar, alarm clock with radio, etc all at the thrift store :)

I also run a lot of my stuff through my service as webapps. If I’m not using it I get of it

So lost in anti-big tech social media that they forgot that algorithms are actually good and helpful!

I got to be honest, I don’t see what features could be gained by making an account and paying? This site lists facts and loose exercises… What’re you expecting people to pay for?

Have you tried telling them you’re an old white guy? That helps

Why wouldn’t you just keep the money?

That does sound like a serious advantage :)

How do you turn caching off

Because we’re delusional.

I subscribe to a lot too and I see a ton of the same content…. Idk where this plentiful good content is that people always go on about. I’m thinking it’s only political subs

Datahoarding is appealing to me because I want to give others access to what matters most to me. I therefore primarily hoard movies, tv shows, and other media torrents on my main server.

I mod some of these communities on other instances but wanted to provide decentralized alternatives, since that’s the whole point of Lemmy, and explore admining since I enjoy selfhosting :)

Very niche communities but I welcome anyone to join and post.

Sorry to ask a similar question compared to a week ago

Password is right in compose and config. Idk what else to do.

I set up an instance of the ArchiveTeam Warrior on my home server with Docker in under 10 minutes. Feels like I'm doing my part to combat removal of information from the internet.

I previously didn’t really care but selfhosting has slowly pushed me to really care about my media and data. Moved to Linux, try to prefer FOSS even if some minor function is lost. But considering when it’s not worth it.

For me, it’s that I have 100% control and the devs respect the consumers enough to show they have nothing to hide.
