Non-wankers, in fact.

Dems and Republicans are identical parties on economic policy (note I said economic, not all policies).

Patently untrue.

I mean, I get what you're trying to say. That both parties serve the interests of the rich few over the majority. But it's just false that they are identical parties on economic policy.

It's not a dick DM move as much as a lazy move. But it might feel like a dick DM move to some of them.

If the idea is to make them weaker, give them a long-lasting debuff rather than removing levels. 50% HP, -4 to attack rolls, etc. Removing levels requires a lot of work on the player's part, and feels like it takes the game backwards rather than forwards. Giving them a debuff that they have to work to restore, on the other hand, feels like there's a path forward to advance towards.

This certainly tracks with me. I was familiar with the pro-Trump crowd on Facebook and Reddit for many years, but I never understood why liberals just failed to get the vote out until I came to lemmy/kbin. The sheer amount of people on the fediverse who are loudly choose to vote against their own interests due to a lack of understanding about how US politics work is a tragedy. It seems the right's war on civic education has reached its tipping point, and they no longer need to rely on policy or numbers; they just need to rely on the ignorance of those who might have voted against them. We seem doomed for a second Trump presidency because nobody wants to take responsibility for the future.

“New club starts after school, kids have fun”

Except this is not what I said at all.

Nice try at a dishonest post though. Read what I actually wrote and try again.

you had to try very hard to be offended by it.

Nah, I didn't have to try very hard at all. But clearly you put a lot of thought into being a troll. Hopefully you didn't hurt yourself.

I don't disagree, but...

Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.___ Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post. ___

It's really annoying when the post title is different from the article title.

It's the vagueness that's the problem. Without lists of who is to be released, it just becomes Israel's word of who is there or not. It could be 100 people or 10,000 people. I suspect Hamas is far more aware of who is imprisoned and how much they are worth. Like, is Hamas demanding the release of random violent criminals, rapists, car thieves, etc. solely because of their ethnicity? I doubt it. But they'll want their fighters back, and any political prisoners, stuff like that.

"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" is the operating phrase here.

There's a lot of people demonstrating a sort of purity cult here in the fediverse, where they think anyone who isn't the savior of all humanity incarnate is thus no better than the worst possible choice. There's no nuance, and no consideration for realpolitik.

Look at the reactions to this post for goodness sake... These same users whine and moane about Biden in every other thread, and then here's a story about how Biden doing something good that they actually wanted him to do, and they moan and whine about how it wasn't good enough.

That's exactly how the propaganda machine wants you to feel and speak. Parent comment is right. You are the one with the power. Exercise it as if you might lose it if you don't!

Because it actually is 100% homophobia, even when it's unintentional. A bit of introspection as to why it bothers people or why they defend it with "I can see why some people..." would do wonders to highlight peoples' subconscious prejudices.

If you can choose between "less genocide" and "more genocide" and you don't choose "less genocide," then you have absolutely no moral high ground to stand on.

Look, if pointing out this issue gets you this angry, it should be a clear sign that deep down you understand the problem and your cognitive dissonance is deafening you to it. Refusing to have a conversation and just resorting to tantrums and namecalling is a bad look, and it betrays the emptiness of your moralizing.
