Yeah this meme is a little uninformed ๐
For as uninterested in dialogue as he is (my favorite cringe line being Anakin saying "I wish that I could just wish it all away..." in AOTC ๐คข), he does have his moments of creativity.
The one that caught my attention was the lady in pink. It could be the camera perspective, but her hand seems wierdly enlarged. Between that, the other lady's hand and the static husband it gives it a fever dream quality ๐
Yeah you nailed it.
On top of that, star wars is essentially a sci-fi exploration the Tao Te Ching (one of the Taoist scriptures). Read any of it's verses and you'll immediately see the philosophy of the star wars franchise (as written by Lucas) come through.
The force is a fundamental in universe physical law, even more so than gravity. This means there are different laws and principles that people must follow. The force wants balance, which is another way of saying it does not want people to use it's power for their own will, redirecting it's path. It wants to flow in it's natural state undistrubed (a very Taoist concept). Emotional attachment tends to cause people in the star wars universe to use the force for themselves or those they love, which often disrupts the balance or flow of the force. Being able to feel the force is almost like losing at Russian roulette in a way, because it means you either fall to the dark side and have the force slowly kill you with dark side corruption, or you sever all ties and abdicate your life to the will of the force. It may be considered a cruel reality, but it's not the Jedi who created that reality.
I think it also may be Lucas's way of trying to convey the same thing Marvel did with Uncle Ben, telling young people that as they grow up with great power comes great responsibility, and that there are things in the universe much larger than us.
Saber notes is really good. It's more for notes, annotating PDFs and simple artwork than anything graphic design level though.
I appreciate this comment. I agree with both sides of the argument to an extent, but feel that there is some unbalanced thinking with this rejection of Fdroid that's been happening. Its a hugely important service.
This Lemmy community is a pretty good resource for inspiration, and sometimes you can snag animation or icon sources from the descriptions or comments. It's not super in depth on the how to end of it though.
There's probably a mixture of those that do and those that don't, but I'd imagine statistically speaking there is a majority who play videogames, especially given the generation that is coding now has grown up with video games as a big part of their childhood.
I actually haven't found much value in his videos lately. I followed him during the time that he was covering more informational topics like android ROMs and a smattering of how to walkthroughs. Haven't seen anything like that in awhile. The few I have watched have basically been news bites about some event in the tech world. I guess those are OK, but still not super helpful in discovering new tech or services.
Now that I think back, he did do a video on how to switch from sudo
to doas
in Linux, which was awesome. One or two videos like that are enough to keep me monitoring the channel.

Not too creative, but it works.
Yeah, seems like Immich is kind if taking over. It really is an excellent one stop solution for automated multi-user backup. Ive been using it for a few months and its solid.
The other option that I really like is a combination of software: Nextcloud + Les Pas. Nextcloud is the server where images are stored in a flat folder system, and Les Pas is an android photo album app that organizes and manages the albums. Its super nice and has some really advanced organization features. Worth checking out if you want to use nextcloud as the storage server.
That's amazing, a retcon like that would win me back over to Disney star wars ๐
