My SO has been using ASMR with some ear buds for years. It occupies her mind and helps her relax enough to fall asleep. Great stuff.

She also needs her fan... Or some other form of white noise. It may be an ADHD thing.

I'm intrigued. And although I read the article, I'm not entirely sure who or what this is for. It's cool, but... what?

The general attitude that "British English is correct" and Americans are wrong, is one of the most absurd things I've ever experienced. English is inconsistent enough as it is, so don't claim your inconsistency of spelling and pronunciation is somehow superior. Believe it or not, withing linguistics you don't make the rules.

Kagi! You can block websites so they don't show up. It'll also flag websites that contain a lot of spam or ads.

Wellll I don't entirely agree. Ever been to IKEA and had a cart full of furniture? It takes every bit of strength my strong body can manage to take a turn without sliding out of control sideways and knocking over five display units and three children. The non-turning back wheels make turns more manageable. Carts should work like cars, front wheels turn, back wheels don't. I submit this comment as sacrifice.

I'm clearly out of touch with the world. Over half of these got an audible groan out of me when I watched the trailers.

Lord of the Rings (movies) came out this century. Let's give credit where credit is due.

I wonder what the ratio is between men who want to become filmmakers and women who want to become filmmakers, and if it's actually 50/50.

Audiences want good movies, and often don't care who writes or directs them. It'd be a mistake to say the reason for the low percentage "is because sexism" on such a multifaceted situation. A quick web search says only about 15% of all filmmakers are women, so this statistic sounds about right. Either not enough women are interested, or not enough get the opportunity.
