Hopefully one day we can eradicate poverty across the globe.
I assume they've gotten the job due to personal preference rather than skill.
That, or they're part of a greater conspiracy to get us used to accepting incompetence as much as possible.

How come the issue doesn't exist in Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring?

I challenged you by trying it yourself to see how easy it is. Have you tried doing it yourself? I'd wager not, and probably win said wager.

Install in a Windows VM then move the files over to your Linux side.
It's a real PITA and you can expect to require at least 3x the storage during the process.
