It doesn't matter where the servers are located physically but who can access the data that's on them

You can torrent without portforwarding. The only issue is on rare Linux isos. You potentially will have trouble discovering new peers. At least one person will need portforwarding.

Fairemail on android. Thunderbird on pc. K9Mail on android is also good but I prefer fairemail
