TBH I think the best case scenario is auto manufacturers get into the train business. Sure it’d take a while but it makes sense from a mechanical and supply chain perspective.

I hate that this take seems like the conspiracy take but also is totally plausible. Just look to the example of the Arab spring and how instrumental social media was for organizing. By fragmenting all social media it’s a lot less likely you see a massive resistance if shit goes sideways.

I usually outfit my bikes with a bag under the seat which includes all tools for changing a flat and a spare tube if there’s room. Topeak makes a few that come with the tools included but if you have the tools there are plenty of small bags to choose from. Also, don’t forget a frame mounted hand pump (if you’re not using CO2).
Why can’t we make safer streets for pedestrians? Narrowed intersections and priority walk signals would do more to save lives than this technology and it can be done today.
The future is with less cars and more public transit. The sooner Michigan realizes this the better of we’ll be.
