I have been trying to use Obsidian to build connections within different parts of my research. I usually do a daily note outlining things I did that day to have a log of everything, and then hypertext important concepts and add to those pages.

I honestly love my Apple earpods with the USB-C end. I don't like the in-ear earphones, and I haven't come across any other earphones that are good quality for about the same price as the Apple earpods. They have been durable in my experience, and if they ever get broken within the year, you could get it changed for free from the Apple store.

As we see art as something to consume in the same way we consume products, we start to see the artist behind the art as something to be consumed as well. I would say the idea of "we paid you, so do your job" pops up as an expectation from all workers (specifically in service jobs), which is soo exploitative and strips the worker from their humanity.

Thank you for hosting and for all your work! I am excited to see this community grow. I have already seen a couple of posts on Canadian reddit communities where people name dropped lemmy.ca. It'd be interesting to maybe do a census once the signups stabilize to see how much the demographic changed. (I saw that there was one made in 2023).

I am not from Guelph, but I have tried Miijidaa Cafe and enjoyed it! Also it is connected to the Bookshelf, a bookstore, which is nice to peruse, and they have a cinema upstairs. Cute date night all in one building!

Diet Pepsi, Aquamarine, and now High Fashion... I am actually so hyped for her album!!! Love this dark soundscape she has been creating.

Love 15 Minutes and Busy Woman!
I had my hopes high for the Dolly Parton feature, but I was not expecting... that? I'm sorry but Dolly's voice sounded like a goat, and did not blend well with Sabrina's :(

Deluxe Songs:
15 Minutes
Please Please Please (ft. Dolly Parton)
Couldn't Make It Any Harder
Busy Woman

I remember coming home from school, and immediately going on to MSN. The silly gifs were so entertaining back then, and it was very cool to have a gif for each letter - like the letter A in flames LOL. I also used to love Club Penguin and ToonTown. Going into those type of cyberworlds felt pretty magical to me back then :)

Ever since I read this blog post, The Indie Web for Everyone, I can't stop thinking about this quote when thinking about fediverse:

It’s like everyone has spent the last few years in a giant all-inclusive resort, screaming at each other for attention at the buffet. Now we’re moving into nice little bed-and-breakfast places, but we’re complaining because it takes slightly more effort to book a room, and the free WIFI isn’t as fast. Maybe its time to rethink some of these expectations. Maybe we need some of that early internet vibe back and be ok with smaller, closer communities. Maybe we can even get some of the fun back and start exploring again, instead of expecting everything to be automatically delivered to us in real time.

I think you are right, as much as fediverse is an alternative to the current social media, by its design it requires a completely different culture than how the general public has became used to interacting with the web - as a commodity.

I'll never forget opening this one up without looking up anything and thinking it was going to be a historical drama lmao

The Brutalist! I enjoyed it, and it didn't feel like 3.5 hrs. I'd recommend watching it at a theater for sure. Thought it was a real story until I looked it up LOL

Thank you so much for running the Taylor Swift & popheads community here!! It was one of your other comments somewhere that really inspired me start posting and commenting around the fediverse. It does take work to cultivate a community, which I have taken for granted being just a lurker in reddit/in general.
