- I can't simultaneously play a third MMO (already got FFXI and FFXIV)
- X4 custom start allows me to jump to the parts I want to play instantly, no matter if it's starting wars, flooding the market, dogfighting, etc
- My X4 save is a gzip file: no need to worry about latency after moving to another country etc (my EVE account is locked to a region halfway across the world)
- I don't have to wait for irl people to do something fun in X4
- The gziped save file is in xml format. If something breaks I can just fix it
- X4 has a huge modding scene for whatever features you want
- X4's modding tools are super easy to learn: it's all xml and lua. Took me only 2 hours to figure out how to modify the UI from scratch.
Because it's in a genre that has no good alternatives?
EVE is spreadsheet simulator, Elite Dangerous is space-truck simulator, NMS is all planets not space, StarField is StarField.
The only viable alternative I found was X4. Even that is slightly different from what Star Citizen promises (it's more empire management than solo flying in the endgame, vanilla balance is also questionable: you can "luke skywalker" a destroyer with a scout with pure dogfighting skills)

The goal here is to prevent someone from requesting a SIM replacement to unlock your other accounts. Since the attacker can use the IMEI and SIM info to contact customer service. If you have MFA on your mint account then they should ask for extra info before sending the replacement SIM, which would help with the current situation.
Also if the router blocks icmp for some reason you can always manually send an ARP request and check the response latency.
This is solving a problem we DO have, albeit in a different way. Email is ancient, the protocol allows you to self identify as whoever you want. Let's say I send an email from the underworld (server ip address) claiming I'm Napoleon@france (user@domain), the only reason my email is rejected is because the recipient knows Napoleon resides on the server France, not underworld. This validation is mostly done via tricky DNS hacks and a huge part of it is built on top of Google's infrastructure. If for some reason Google decides I'm not trustworthy, then it doesn't matter if I'm actually sending Napoleon's mail from France, it's gonna be recognized as spam on most servers regardless.
A decentralized chain of trust could potentially replace Google + all these DNS hacks we have in place. No central authority gets to control who is legitimate or not. Of all the bs use cases of block chain I think this one doesn't seem that bad. It's building a decentralized chain of trust for an existing decentralized system (email), which is exactly what "block chain" was originally designed for.

In all seriousness, why are people so adverse to using password managers? People are plenty willing to use the browsers built-in "remind my password" instead of a proper password solution such as bitwarden... And they come up with such "hacks" just to avoid using a proper length password.
My go-to is always PCManFM.
Yes the name sucks, but I've never seen another file manager with tabs, split view, customizable buttons, buttonizable nav bar, and have three different gui kits to choose from (Qt5, gtk2, gtk3). Really hard to beat all that.
As much as I love tactical RPGs with massive maps, there's something magical about the diorama-style maps of FFT
Zen kernel should be fine. I've been running it for 4 years and haven't had any issues specific to zen.
