Lol, considerably less fun than going haywire.

No offense since Gen X and Boomers on Lemmy are inherently cool for being on the fediverse, but my Gen X father and Gen X coworkers have literally no idea who Kirk was prior to his death.
Their media consumption is still very old school, on average, and TV media is making him out to be some kind of motivational speaker. It's quite maddening.
Well yes, people are kind of pissed off about it in the community that votes and cares about comedy.
Good point. I think mine is clear, although I didn't have too much of an option either way. I think anyone looking into it should be aware.
Hmm, that does explain why it'd need mortar, too. The tongue and groove stuff works like puzzle pieces and if you follow a lot of the other advice, it's not a terribly hard diy project. There's cheaper stuff out there, too, though you definitely notice the difference.
New release of 10 so a bunch of carriers are doing that $800 off thing. That's equal to the non pro version, but you get locked into a carrier (and pay tax, boo). Jokes on them, though, since we live in a monopoly area I can't switch even if I wanted to. Bonus, I can probably do a custom os since pixel is usually more compatible.
Edit: finally got a chance to check, all carriers lock it, including this one. Supposedly you can request an unlock once it's paid off, though (and one report said it was automatic at least with T-Mobile) as it's not manufacturer locked and just network locked (e.g. greyed option in dev menu). That seems fair for a subsidised phone that's locked for two years.
I have similar, I believe it's a type of laminate (they call it that, it can be inflexible but has a fake wood look). Does it have a tongue and groove edge where two pieces meet? Either way, new floor needed. If you can't afford it, a temp solution is to make a transition since it's by a door, you can kind of get away with a slightly different floor and a cover over the gap.
Having done a little work on mine, good flooring can get costly. Just a pack of 18 sq ft here was $50, though it was very good, textured laminate. Waterproof stuff, too, doesn't require mortar.
An alternative, you can install a temporary landing, since it's by a door. Transitions are a solution I use when I needed a patch of floor done. Whole floors get expensive even if you diy.
I... I actually kind of find that adorable in a way. I'm kinda glad it's trained on insecure Internet people.
Edit: attempted with Gemini and it first just showed me an image, then when I asked for an emoji it didn't get tricked even when I asked to double check. It said it's probably the Mandela Effect.
Btw, first time using the phone's gemini, which wasn't something I wanted but with pixels essentially free right now, I kinda had to get one to replace my dead phone.
Ah yes, the same Huntington Beach who put up a MAGA plaque that didn't stand for MAGA but we knew it really did (those council members wore their red hats to the ceremony, iirc).
Official surf city? Don't make me laugh.
My point isn't about what they should do, I think anyone who knows what Kirk was really about would agree with you. My point is there's so much misinformation when from "trusted" sources that I'm not surprised even Coldplay didn't get the memo.
In my experience, it's also just... normal looking people doing kinda weird poses while you draw, paint or whatever.
Like, man, I'm not turned on by this 60 year old man with a stick changing his position every minute for gesture drawing. In fact, it's quite literally the opposite of a pole dancer!
