Could you explain that reference please?

The ui in general needs a huge overhaul. It could be way better, and I've encountered so many bugs.

What new mechanics would you consider to be in the 'can't live without' category?

I didn't even realize it's claws were out at first, good catch.

Also, the plant has a little face on it and that's a good detail too.

And also pay us a fucking livable wage that's been adjusted for inflation and productivity gains over the years for fucks sake.

~~No, that's the complete opposite of what the fediverse is trying to do. Centralization and corporate ownership are the reason so many other platforms are enshittifying and failing. Having many servers ensures resiliency against that fundamental weakness.~~

I may have misunderstood what you meant.

So, I'm hoping to reduce the substantial screen tearing that I'm encountering while watching videos.

One of the suggestions that I have found is to enable wayland, which did help quite a bit (this is the guide I found). However, I've decided I don't really want to use gnome. Gnome seems great, but I've already become accustomed to using cosmic.

Apparently pop os is in a transitionary phase and will eventually update to wayland as the default, but I'm just wondering if there's other desktop environments I should be considering? I see that Fedora now comes with a KDE cosmic variant, but I don't know if this would be any better or not.

Edit:

I ended up installing kde plasma standard desktop environment (which was listed here). Upon booting into the login screen there's a big on-screen keyboard. Hit enter to bypass it. In the dropdown menu on the top left of the screen, there is an option for 'pop on wayland'

So far, everything seems to be working good. I had to change the steam client to the 'proton hotfix' to get one of my games to play.

Anyone else running into this issue?

Anyone else running into this issue?

Upon going back to the feed page from a post page, the feed tends to load in at a different point (higher up) than where it was before. This results in a lot of repetitive scrolling.

Also, I noticed that (when new content is being loaded in?) the scrolling gets stuck in the same spot. Scrolling kind of just glitches on the same spot until it gets past it and then resumes as normal.

Hey, I noticed that the expand/collapse button tends to block text sometimes. Is there any way that it could be made transparent when hovering the mouse over it? Also, the hover text should say 'collapse' when the text has already been expanded.

These are often found on vacuum cleaner cables and such.

I'd like one to clip onto a two wire (two pronged, no ground) flat cable like this one:

Anything like that exist yet?

Does anyone have tips for redirecting YouTube links on mobile android?

I tried Firefox with libredirect addon, but it doesn't want to work for some reason.

I'm having some trouble finding an answer for this. While in the gaming mode, just navigating the regular steam ui, the default behavior of the left trackpad acts as a redundant directional pad. I'd like that trackpad to control the screen navigation behavior instead (swipe up/down to scroll vertically, swipe left/right to scroll horizontally).

Is there an easy way to do this?

I have a 'screenshots' folder on my laptop. I would like my steam deck to send the screenshots that I take on it to that same folder, or have it synchronized somehow. What is the best or most intuitive way of accomplishing this?

I would like to know if there's any (automatic) ways of translating the instances which are not my native language (English). I think many of them would be well worth participating in, or at least being able to lightly skim over.

I know many get annoyed by them, and end up filtering/blocking. I don't find myself annoyed by them or anything like that, I just feel like I'm missing out a bit. I think if there was an easier and more inclusive way to join in with these communities it would be a great benefit to the fediverse.
