One more thing to add to the Google Graveyard

Google has truly mastered the fine arts of wasting money

He talked about this in last week's WAN Show.

He explained that LTT has reached a saturation point in terms of viewership, and the only way to get more views is through quantity.

At least he's blunt about it. Maybe the solution is to focus more on the entertainment style videos and diverge from serious graph-driven content

I simply cannot stand LTT. I wish there was a TLDW bot on lemmy. I've seen it in a couple of posts.

There's no way the model is sustainable once everyone starts their streaming platform.

For those who don't know yet: Firefox Nightly for Android let you install any extension you desire.

You just need to create a custom collection on the web site and link your ID in nightly.

When he started his channel, phones were out on a monthly basis with revolutionary tech each time.

The smartphone tech has more or less reached a plateau. I think he's trying to stay the same, but the products he reviews are less interesting

For all new users: I'd recommend picking an instance that:

  • Is geographically close to you first
  • Has the same "moral compass" as you (ie if they allow NSFW content or are defederated from instances that has sensitive content)
  • That isn't hammered by too many new users

It's not that hard to check out this info, usually after a day or two on Lemmy you'll figure these things out.

NGL this is quite interesting and borderline practical

I swear some Lemmy users are worse than that overly attached gf meme.

Get off Reddit and stop talking about reddit.

I use LosslessCut on a daily basis. Is basically a lossless video / audio cutting tool that works perfectly for trimming down raw footage.

Is there a alternative for Android?

I can understand the flak they're having, but honestly Nova is the first thing I install on all my Android devices. Its so convenient and versatile

The app is great! I'm glad it's finally available to everyone.

But Plex's music support is clearly an afterthought. Anemic ID3 support, impossible to edit tags, even worse playlist editing support, etc. It's quite sad

I enjoy Voyager but I always thought is was slow and overall unresponsive. Turns out that when installed as a web app it's much more quicker and a better experience. Firefox is my default browser and the install option doesn't seem to work properly (or at all?)

To install Voyager as a web app on your android phone if Firefox is your default browser (or any other brower other than Chrome), simply go to the voyager link using Chrome and then install it from the menu.

The difference is night and day

What the title says. I have one account with a long Blocklist, and each time I try to add this account on Connect, it breaks something, nothing is showing at all (local/all/subscribed) and all my accounts are affected.

The only way to fix the situation is to clear data in the block list and to sign-in all my accounts over again

I wanted to block a community, but clicked on instance instead.

The instance appears on my block list, and no matter how many times I unblock it, it always come back in my block list.

It seems that the change doesn't save when I exit the menu.
