Yes, however in this case, actual objective reality seems to support the idea that there is no evidence for a Biden impeachment instead of the made up alternate reality those conservatives were living in.

Being around other people is a good thing. I also have this somewhat egotistical view that I’m a pretty good leader. I will probably be in charge, or at least not a slave, when push comes to shove.

Well, at least he's right about the ego thing. He's going to get traded for a handful of batteries within the first week lol.

It is, and IIRC you don't even "own" a movie even if you physically have it. You own the physical disc, not the content on it. Granted, it's a lot harder for Sony or Discovery to come kick down your door and take your copy of Ice Road Truckers so you have to rebuy it...

I don't know how we can't legislate this into existence eventually if nothing else just based on climate change and the amount of working material we just... throw away. Especially as more and more things integrate software, I imagine that it's going to feel absolutely insane to people in a few decades (after the water wars and the great migrations) that they had technology like the microscope in the post but the company decided no more software updates so now it's just garbage.

I think this is the difference between private/public companies. They don't have to deal with the "growth at all costs" mindset that plague public companies.

Same. And the thing with Amazon is most of the shit I buy on there, I can't really buy local. Computer shit especially. Used to be, we had a Fry's that was about 2 hours away. So, far enough that it required planning and usually would wait for the weekend, which usually meant amazon would be faster anyway.

edit: just to be clear, I wish that amazon didn't have as much utility as it does because they're a shit company, but I kinda feel like this is the norm with just about every corp these days.

tbh modern web should be good. We can make the pages look and act just about any way we want. Old web with blink tags, tiny text, insane margins, etc is not what needs to be brought back. The "old" web was only good because it didn't load 10mb trackers and whatever javascript framework is popular right now.

It's pretty insane to me that in some ways, the old web was more performant on a 56k modem in 1996 than it is today on a gig connection.

My latest ad-shock was over at a friend's house. I've not had cable since probably '03? They have cable because a parent lives with them and insists/pays. Just having the TV on playing random things felt weird. Weirder still is having the movie interrupted by ads every 5 seconds. And the ads are just gross. The only thing that was decent was using it as a discovery service. The movie, one of the X-Men that was not one of the good ones, was what we stumbled upon. We watched for a bit, then ended up switching to watching it elsewhere to dunk on it. In ad-free, interruption-free, 4k with surround. Paying for the cable experience (which is rapidly the streaming experience) seems entirely anachronistic.

I don't expect them to do that, much too easy to get slapped down on by the EU. I do expect that non-Apple/MFI chargers are USB 2.0, and I do expect are limited to slow charging and might come with a nasty-gram in the OS when using one. I lean against the nasty-gram as you can use some shit-ass lightning cables and iOS doesn't generally care, but the other two I would say are near certain. What will be real fucky is if they don't have a faster data transfer speed at all.

Probably should have posted a pic with a good wheel.
