Maybe you could try some different toothpastes to find one that makes you really want to do it and not just feel like it's something you should do?

This is the real answer for OP. Those lights were replaced. Maybe OP (and maybe me as well, I haven't really thought about it) would prefer to still have the notification LED, but to the hardware manufacturers they replaced those with something "cooler".

From what the other app devs said, it isn't that reddit would turn you off at all, it's that you'll start accruing charges as of July 1st. So, hopefully they didn't just rely on reddit shutting them down or reddit is going to hit them with a nasty bill for a week of use that they'll have to try to fight.
