Presumptive I'm not thinking critically ☹️. My point is that there is no such thing as identical to an arbitrary level of accuracy. Were I to presume what you mean, you are say

His son looks prophetic. He knew. He knew.

Unmaterialist?

My parents went on a two week vacation to Switzerland and have been back in the United States for around a week. In the last few days they've gotten very sick. The symptoms seem like covid or the flu, but my dad said their doctor ruled those out as well as strep throat. I'm sure they ran additional tests as well. Has anyone heard about something like this going around? Should I be concerned? FWIW I've been around them the entire time they've been sick and I haven't caught anything.

I just take it as "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings"

You'll have to run that back for me. Are you saying the political aparatus is so powerful it can do whatever it wants with equal effectiveness of method? Or the public across the board being so stupid it doesn't make a difference whether something is real or not? Or something else?

Isn't this more credible than some qanon shit? After all, we are talking about it too

Not if it's rubbing someone's face in it

Is it time to buy a gun?

Newsom is a piece of shit, but that quote is out of context. The 'work' wasn't literal. It was 'working to use your platform to reach across thé ailes' or some kind of horse shit. If he absolutey had to say something, offer condolences to the family and shut the fuck up. The whole make sure you please everyone is going to leave everyone pissed about something

I wouldn't say don't, but be careful if you want to keep your job. I suggest making it inferred and not direct. Example. The day after the election I showed Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot. The one with the footage of the plane hitting the World Trade Center. It was VERY on the nose and a few students complained in my evals, but I got away with it because we were starting Universal Gravitation and I showed The Drake Equation first. It was very much a "while we are talking about Carl Sagan...". There was enough context and plausible deniability you'd have a hard time going after me. And I'm glad I did. A lot of students needed to hear it. Here are the two videos so you can see what I'm talking about:

On your phone in particular. I have all turned off except for signal messages from a few people.

Side question: Have you or anyone you've known "rang the bell" on content on youtube, twitch, etc? For how many channels? What (kind of dystopian nightmare) was that like?

I think strawberries are pretty spectacular

We all know "proof of age" or "age verification" is synonymous with mass surveilance, but the words "proof of age" were cleverly choosen so the average person considers it the same as showíng another person a driver's license. Unecessary or otherwise it's only a minor inconvenience. And there is no harm to privacy.

So what should we call "proof of age" or "age verification" which is just as punchy, but communicatee the real intent? How can we subvert this attack on our rights by turning these twisted words against themselves?

How in terms of "how did you do it" i.e. a guide a wiki etc. How to you maintain it? How do you provide security and how do you maintain it? Do you host on bare metal at home? Do you use a cloud service? If the former, how do you connect to it when you aren't at home?

I realize that's a lot to ask, but I have some down time and want to hear everyone's full viewpoints

And what is a left libertarian? How do the two coalesce into a 'Libertarian Party' in other countries?

I use ProtonMail, and I was thinking, "Damn, it's spectacular not being tracked... but hold on a minute. Perhaps less than gmail, but still at all. And what about browser fingerprinting, and cookies, and even fonts!" I ended up in that feedback loop we all end up in. Perhaps ignorance is bliss? What is something you (might) wish you were ignorant of?

E.g. music, sculpture, novel

Avoid 'maybe' or 'it depends'. Take a stand!

For those of you who travel in the united states, you'll know they now have facial recognition scans when checking your id. You can opt out by telling them you don't want to take the picture. I do every time, but I wonder what the point of the scan is if you can just opt out. That given, why do you think they do it? What prevents them from forcing you to do it?

To those of you who live outside of the united states, have you seen a similar increase in security at your airports?

I use OSM and Organic Maps, but I have difficulty searching by address or business. I end up using my computer, finding the location, matching it to the map in the app, and favoriting it. Am I doing this the dumb way? Is there an alternative FOSS navigation app which has this functionality?
