spring roll? summer roll? salad roll? hand roll? ive seen different variations on the name, but the package says banh trang so i suppose thats what they are. made these as a roll-your-own at the table, which made for a good time for my preschooler.

carrot, courgette, spinach, soy glazed shiitake, quick pickled cucumber, vegan kimchi, and gochujang sauce. i promise rice is at the bottom.

had some leftover ingredients to use up, and i needed a cheap meal, so i made some polenta with soymilk and tossed some sauteed crimini mushrooms in pizza sauce.

"applicants must be without decent, safe, and sanitary housing" is that a hard stop or is there some flexibility on that condition? im not trying to pry into your previous situation, but that makes it sound a bit more dire than the average renter.

there is this film from the late 80s called miracle mile about a guy who answers an incoming call at a payphone outside a diner in los angeles, and its a panicked military officer who dialed the wrong phone number who says he just launched americas nukes and that a nuclear retaliation will hit american soil in about an hour. a lot of the film is spent without being fully convinced of the authenticity of the phone call and the film has a slightly dreamlike pacing which makes it feel pretty tense, and theres a scene that stuck with me where the main character has a nosebleed in the diner after the phone call. i feel like even as far as cult films go this one is a little under the radar and, even though its not a life altering film, probably deserves a little more credit than it gets.

that is a nice conundrum. almost like it is impossible to become a billonaire if the desire to benefit society is too high on your priority list.

yea munch was featured in some crossover between homicide and the original law & order, so when homicide got canceled in 99 they offered richard belzer a spot as munch on svu since it was in the works at the time and he was already in universe

not to mention starting detective john munch's career

the way i see it, on big budget productions anyone who is relying on their paycheck to survive already got paid for their work, and the ones collecting royalties or sales percentages are rich enough that i couldnt care less. smaller independent studios or individual creators are the ones that i will always support, and in cases like itch.io games that are pwyw i will take the free download and figure out how much i will pay based on how much i like the game.

fun might not be the right word, but I've been playing New Vegas and trying to throw out every piece of trash I can find. if adding an item to my inventory would cause karma loss, I use grab and move it over next to a trash can. I also separate the different kinds of trash, and in McCarran and Vikki and Vance I cleaned up the bar/restaurant areas by stacking plates and cups, and disposed of all cigarettes into ash trays. its... exhausting, really.
