YouTube basically killed all of the original video sharing sites because it was so convenient. The cost of setting up and running such a site is astronomical.
They're cute and cuddly, they have fascinating personalities, and you have to earn their love.
Grew up in the UK in the 80s and 90s, and had comprehensive education on US history, including the Revolution. Also learned about the slave trade and the civil war, and then politics right up until the 20th century. May have helped that my home town had a small, but important role in early colonization.
The technology exists, just not very common.

E-Reader, I've put hours and hours into that thing and it's still going strong. Maybe I'll upgrade it at some point, but it's showing no signs of ageing yet. I love reading, but I don't have space for a huge library of books (believe me I wish I did).
I'm a white man who falls into that category, I'd never own a Tesla, they're too fucking expensive. Maybe I'll get an EV some day, but it won't be a Tesla. For now, I'll stick to my 6 year old car that still runs well and didn't cost me a second mortgage.
The accent? It's the Mid-Atlantic accent that a lot of old actors were trained to speak with. In more modern times, people have just started using their natural accent or an accent that better fits the character they are portraying.
It's similar to the Received Pronunciation you'd hear older British people using (eg how the Queen used to talk).
Oof. Oh well, at least they’re getting recognized I guess.
