With it getting colder and colder outside i find myself wanting to upgrade my running wardrobe. Maybe you guys find yourself in a similar situation, or have already found your endgame and can give some recommendations.

Right now for example i am looking to upgrade some of my cheap decathlon longsleeved tops, that i am not particularly happy with, and maybe add a jacket/vest.

What are you wearing when it is X°C outside? When do you start using multiple layers and what's your strategy?

What are your favorite pieces of running gear for when it gets cold outside? Feel free to name specific models.

Or maybe you aren't as hung up about a specific brand, but have certain features/materials/technologies that you really like/dislike in your winter gear.

Just a general thread about running. How's your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc.

I've had my watch about 6 weeks now and I've just started to try to recommend workouts to see if they make any difference.

Just wondering if people use the suggested workouts or whether they're just a bit rubbish? How do I know if the suggestions are accurate for what I need?

She averaged 4:57.4 per mile and held on after a blistering start to shatter the record.

The Chicago Marathon is now the site of the existing men’s and women’s marathon world records. Kelvin Kiptum set the men’s mark, 2:00:35, in Chicago in 2023.

I am a runner, on and off depending on injuries and life, for the last 15 years. I fixed my running form best I could, but never got the hang of high cadence. Everyone says that around 180 smp is best, use a Metronom to get used to the speed of the steps. But it always felt forced to me, like extra work with little benefit. So I did my runs at 160 spm. Last Weekend I did 11 km and on the final stretch I stopped the music and listened to my body. I played with the lean of my straight torso and when I shifted my lean forward, my steps got smaller and faster, while I went the same speed.

It was that simple. I checked the t watch and I was spot on. It was not too hard, it felt good, like a balance of fall and catch on every small step. I never got it before, but I think now I do.

I hope my revelation helps someone.

I'm looking for some new ear buds for running and other purposes, but finding anything suited for a mediocre active lifestyle seems hard.

Now I have a pair of Sennheiser sport true wireless. What works is the audio quality and reliable charging. What doesn't work is the very clunky charging case, and any trace of rain will adjust the volume, change the song or pause the track. A stable 3/5 product. Wearing a hood just amplifies the problem as a tiny amount of moisture will interfere.

I'm not trusting Sennheiser for a new pair right now as their Momentum True Wireless 3 buds had a faulty charging tech. Both me and my partner had to send them in and receive new ones. Bad for us, bad for the environment.

Any recommendations for a pair with a nice balanced sound quality, good case, and reliable controls in all conditions?

These are my Mizuno Enerzy. They are only a few years old, but they survived my 110kg to 75kg, 5km in 50 mins to 10km in 55 mins fitness journey. Its getting a bit embarrasing at the gym when people see the duct tape. Ive already stitched the holes up three times.

How long are running shoes supposed to last you? They are expensive! Are they expected to do this, or should they last much longer?

Any advice on fixing a form. I feel I might at times be slouching forward and heel driving I correct it but just keep going back. Kinda getting back into it (started on and off running Jan - April but stopped) but couldn't remember how too have the right form

Been back into running for about a year after a long hiatus. When I ran before it was just for cardio but I did a half marathon back in the day.

Now I’m more focused on form, different types of runs, etc. and things are going great.

I’m using a training plan my physical therapist gave me for my race that’s coming up soon. I was wondering, what do I do after the race? When are the easy runs? When are the tempo runs? When should I do speed work? When are the long runs?

I like distance running (I’m here for the ultra trail stuff) and want to maintain in between races.

VO2 max go brrrrr (lemmynsfw.com)

This is my VO2 max over the last few months. I’ve been in terrible shape for a long time, bet you can’t guess when I started running. I can’t believe how much more fun running is when you learn how to do it first!

Apologies if this is a bit too much information!

I realised recently that my shorts have a netting like swimming shorts do and decided to ditch the boxers and see how it was. What an absolute game changer! I don't know why I didn't do this a year ago when I started running.
