Democratic numbers man Geoff Garin, summarizing their analysis, stop saying, “We’re not going back.” It wasn’t focused enough on the future, he argued. Second, lay off all the “weird” talk — too negative.

omg 🙄 Geoff Garin is a dinosaur with a book of dusty mid-90's "political wisdom" in his back pocket. Guys like him are the whipped dogs of the Democratic party who can only grovel towards "centrists" and push the Overton Window further right.

Geoff Garin must see young progressives as not even worthy of attempting to placate with platitudes because we will somehow offend the mythical "on-the-fence" boomers that Geoff in all his political wisdom has been relentlessly pursuing his entire life. He is the embodiment of the pussified towel-twisting Democrat who enabled the rise of fascism by taking off his hat and bowing deeply as soon as it entered the room.

I hope they put Geoff Garin out to pasture and nobody ever EVER trusts his political instincts ever again. If he is numb to the vibe and trying to reign it in then he's overstayed his welcome and utility.

They opted to ignore him, so it seems like they came to the same conclusion.
