Sounds like a fun plan! Just near Ripponlea station too. Do you know roughly what time/order of performance? eg. 3rd in queue or what? No problem if this isn't known - open mics are notorious for running over the time budget, what with set ups and tear downs and all.

I finish work at 730... You know how late it will go?
The open mic sesh at Lyrebird runs from 7.30 to 10 pm but will probably go later (based on personal experience). If our Simon is third in the queue, then prob won't start till 8 ish or later.
