Well, for starters I don't want a car at all. I'd rather use public transit. You know, an actually effective means of reducing emissions.

If I were in the market, yes, I would want the best car. Which is why I'd never buy a Tesla. I'd buy an XPeng or a BYD or the like.

Elon Musk is the reason I sold my Model S. I got an SUV and a convertible out of it. Now I have an EV SUV and a mini Cooper

Do you have the EV Mini? I looked into them a while ago but wasn't thrilled about the idea of buying their first attempt at an EV.

It's a Subaru Soltera. I only have 3 complaints about it. Other than this I absolutely love the car.

  • It does not remember charging limits. 80% is the ideal, it always charges to 100%
  • You have to manually turn on regenerative braking every time. There is no setting to keep it on
  • The qi charger in the console for phones is horrible. It doesn't work with a phone case and when it does work, it will change at a slower rate than the energy the phone uses.

Those first two things sound like bugs, to me, and something that could be quite easily fixed by a software update, I would think.

As for the qi charger, in my experience these are very often crap/slow in cars. I don't know why that is.

They definitely are bugs. There's a forum for Soltera owners, I'm not the first one to bring it up.

Yeah, sorry I misread the question. The mini Cooper is gas, I didn't even realize they were shipping the EV version yet.

No worries. Yeah the 2 door EV Mini Cooper has been for a couple years now. I just checked and it looks like my local dealership has a few of the 4 doors as well, which they weren't even making the last time I looked. So those must be brand new. Never actually seen one in person though.
