I listened to it on audiobook, and it was honestly one of the best books I've listened to in a long time.

spoilerHearing her go thru the emotions of realizing her mother was abusive after she died was tragic in a way I can't describe

Do you think it is worth a read? I felt it got a lot of attention due to the big name writer and I was waiting to see if it would stick in the long term.

Yes! 100% yes! It's one of the best memoirs I've ever read. I listened to the audiobook but I will 100% be buying the hardcover eventually. I will say it is extremely intense to read, and if you have any kind of trauma it is very much important to work on that first or read the book with a professional guiding you. I think it can be helpful for when done correctly with a professional to help move forward from parental abuse. I'd suggest listening to her audiobook, her narration is amazing.

I'm excited for her upcoming fiction writing, she deserves so much and I love her dearly. She's a fantastic writer

content warning parental death & kinda personalIt helped me processing my mothers death with breast cancer honestly, she described the feeling of anticipatory grief perfectly. it helped even though my own my wasnt abusive
