This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions from mod(s).
- Provide the cause of the sanction (e.g. the text of the comment).
- Provide the reason given by the mods for the sanction.
- Don't use private communications to prove your point. We can't verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don't deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don't harass mods or brigade comms. Don't word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin' in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

Ani.social mentioned!
Anyway, isn't beehaw way worse than world? Like, to the point they were at one point trying to leave lemmy so they could better isolate their community? As far as politics goes in Lemmy world is in control, sadly, since it's the worst part of world in my experience.
Beehaw is isolationist = picky on who it federates with, but it's transparent on that. And the main reason why its admins want another software is the sorry state of the Lemmy mod tools.
It improved quite a lot since 0.18.3.
I always feel like Beehaw are in a weird spot. Either keep using Lemmy to keep up with the new features for both the mods and the users, or switch to Mbin or Piefed, they are viable options.
This in between is just strange.
If I recall correctly its admins are considering to move it to SubLinks, once it gets ready enough.
I'm on the Sublinks Matrix, the project has come to a halt. That's why I said that if Beehaw admins wanted to switch, Piefed and Mbin are much better options
That's sad :( any specific reason why?
Mbin so far looks promising to me
Lead dev got personal priorities, no one took over as a project manager.
We have to keep in mind that text-based forums are declining in popularity across the general population.
Lemmy has 2 full-times devs, and 3 additional contributors.
Mbin is 2 devs.
Piefed is 1 main dev and 1 additional contributor.
That's the number of devs we are talking about, for a 45k monthly active users community.
Blergh. That's sad. Thank you for the info!
Yes, beehaw is not ideal, I should probably replace that one with !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world
Looks like it had some activity but is now dead.
The election is over, people moved on
I wouldn't recommend Beehaw for people since they may not be accessible on the instances people might choose and they tend to be a bit more heavy handed with their approach.
They've also stated they don't have much long term commitment to being part of the Fediverse or being on Lemmy so I wouldn't put much faith in them as a good replacement to lemmy.world.
Those are all available through .world tho right?
Yes, all links should work, feel free to report if not
