Haven't watched 'TV' in over 15 years

When people ask questions like this they need to clarify if Netflix is included in their definition of tv.

In my opinion watching TV is watching TV regardless of the source.

But people need to clarify the question.

No TV and no Netflix here. Does YouTube count?

[-] andrewta@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

If you are using it to watch 30 second to 6 minute videos then no.

If you are using it to watch full length movies or full TV episodes, then yes in my definition it does.

Who watches movie and TV shows on YouTube?

I watch primarily YouTube and it's all hobby/educational content. And it's not 6 minute videos. It sounds like you're stuck in 2005 YouTube era.

I actually have YouTube TV which is their live tv package.

Which is a different service called YouTube TV, so yeah, probably reasonable to call it 'watching TV' in that case, considering it's in the name.

oh yeah I wasn't arguing that. Even YouTube makes the distinction but it is still technically YouTube.
