Is it possible the doctors at the CDC showed him something that would finally change his mind and he had enough of a conscience to care for the lives on the line?

Probably not, but I can hope, I guess.

Doubt it

My guess is he got bitched at by Trump or Vance that the optics of a bunch of kids potentially dying of measles doesn't look good. Not because anyone of them actually care about human life but just purely the optics and future questions they'd be asked about by reporters.

Yeah. I thought it was a token gesture, like 2,000 doses (1,000 people) is just enough so they can say they sent vaccines.
